got to move...Boulder is an option?

Hello all-- Unfortunately I am needing to move from my place of residence for the last 8 years.   sad  I will have to give up my chickens, cookstove, and all that jazz.

I'm in Boulder CO right now visiting friends, and they really think I should move here.  I know the cost of living is extremely high!   They actually know someone who has offered me a room in a community house, rent free for chores/gardening.

Anybody live out this way or have any ideas about the area?

USED TO live in a 420sq foot cabin in the timber. No running water, no electricity, no TV! Cookstove, fruit cellar, garden, wild foods, chickens.

Well, we do call it the "people's republic of Boulder" around here gig

It has more regulation, more taxes and a higher cost of living than most of the state. That being said, it is hard to beat free room and board.

It may cost a lot but if you know the right people there might be some free mead in it for you but you're gonna need a aluminum foil hat.

Re: got to move...Boulder is an option?

My sister lived in Boulder for a while, and I thought it was a nice town.  I was a young adult at the time so I wasn't worried about taxes, regulations, property prices, etc., but it felt safe, it was sort of young and vibrant, nice people, easy to get around, clean.  This was about 15 years ago.

Sorry about the move and your losses!  hugs
