What do you do to cut expenses down?

@frustratedearthmother Yes! Look for the ferny asparagus growing in ditches along roadsides, they'll be 3-4' tall, some have the red berries hanging near the stalk this time of year. Wherever you see the ferny stalks now, there will be wonderful tender asparagus next spring. In the places...

What do you do to cut expenses down?

For the past two years, the kids and I have enjoyed looking for ditch asparagus in the spring. We have some really good finds with mature crowns! The best part...neither of them ever said they didn't like it. They were caught up in the excitement of the foraging to even think that anyone has...

Hello from New Member in Eastern Kansas

I just want to make sure I have something to sell that's a bit more eye catching than the standard tomatoes, cucs, and bell peppers. In years past I've done well growing English cucumbers, they've gained in popularity. This year I had good results with Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye Tomato and Rainbow...

Hello from New Member in Eastern Kansas

Hi, I found this site after becoming a member of one of the sister sites and thought this site is me to a "T"! I landscape, flower and vegetable garden, sowing most of our seeds, always mixing veggies plants in amongst the landscaping, wherever they will fit into our suburban space. I...
