ooo names, that's a hard one lol
in terms of pricing, in your general area, im seeing $150-$200 for registered F1 mini Nubians...given them unregistered id start them around the $100-$125 zone...and see what happens.
your closer to the local market in terms of sales so youll be able to judge a little better for the local market, but in terms of online/website pricing that seems to be the starting zone.
their daddy was blue eyed, and his momma was a 4 star milker...(pure nigi-dwarf) so they should bring some good milk into lines if sold as bucklings. :)

Glad your enjoying the girls, I kinda spoilt them but I think whatever I did they do have amazing personalities :D such sweet little love bugs and glad the babies have followed suit.
If I had anyone coming up this way in the enxt few weeks id take one of the boys myself lol they are adorable :D
I hope lilly is pregnant for you, never argue with more milk and it would be fun to see what color babies she has :D

right now, personally im a bit of a nervous nelly, the barn is as secure as it realy needs to be, anything trying to get in would have to climb about 8ft straight up and clib though a 12" gap in the eaves to get in (and that's after getting trhough 4 strand electric lol) but still...im such a nervous goaty mommy the first few weeks.
Pippin took an almost 10ounce bottle for supper but merry only took about 4 (she had a larger 4pm bottle though so) mum and sis gave their afternoon bottles and sis and dad gave the bedtime bottles (ill be doing the 8am feeds alone anyway so im not worried about bonding time...I realy want the girls to bond with everyone since they wont be just my goats, but im going to be the one doing all the work after the "OMG HOW CUTE BABIES!!!" thing wears off so I realy need to make sure I don't give away all my bonding time in favor of them bonding with everyone else...so im going to be setting aside morning feed and at least a couple of 1/2 hour sit and talk blocks per day just me and them to discus the days going ons and get to know eachother.
once the little male gets here ive got a feeling the novelty will wear off fairly quickly at that point.
gonna probably cut the girls back to 3 feedings a day come Wednesday anyway, they are certainly old enough to be on 3, and itll make my life easier...

they are certinaly cute, little Bilbo is supposed to be getting picked up tomorrow, but ive got a mini acquaintance whos got a doe due any min on an F2 mini...so im kinda...if she has a realy pretty buckling and the price is the same...hmmm lol.

but yeah...tomorrow ive got some gardening to get started on, got mum a rose bush for her birthday as a start to her garden, gonna bring down my "pond" and figure out where thigns are going. think im going to put a blueberry bush in that bed (weve got 3 that currently ned to find spots in the garden and 4 due to arrive from gurnseys
the 4 gurnseys will go in the berrypatch but the other 3 I kinda wanto scatter into beds for edible plantings :)
ive got to do some looking into edible perenials that I can mix in there too, im thinking daylilies and lavender, mabe some mints
so planning that is a job...got to also plan the orchard and berry patch, Easter weekend seems to be the start of fruit planting around here so...

keeping busy...im happy that weve got the goats but still feeling a little displaced...I think working in the garden will help.

the girls first night seemed to go well, no traumatized goats this morning and both took 8 ounces for breakfast (though pippin the brown one was a little more reluctant to the whole situation, she seems to be a little more headstrong and independent than her sister, BUT...that was Lilly, when I got lilly it took me a week of forcing her to finally get her on the bottle and a good month of bonding time before she realy trusted me...and she turned out well so im pretty sure I don't have to worry. got them, the babnties and the buns sorted for the day, now, coffee for me and some snuggle with the dogs time.
doubt ill get any gardening done but that's ok...ive still got some boxes to work through anyhow :)

we got SNOW...in april...80 degrees the day before yesterday, then SNOW last night WTF?
thankfully the baby girls had no issues on the overnight and greeted me at the stall door with a MAAAA and downed their bottled like pros, then of course had some climb all over human lady time.
bunnies got fed chickens got checked on, bottles are washed and now im having coffee before the major "find my cell charger" hunt begins.
im currently trying to find a free unlock code for my old att phone since my current phone isn't reliably charging anyway, but ive realy got to have my phone, got some stuff ive got to get done.

found it, my cell is dying and I had to do the "wiggle it" game to get the charger and the phone to meld perfectly enough to get it charged but its charged :) got to double check my letter in a few to make sure ive got the information together they need for that...
got another form to fill out for something else and got to fill out another form to get the registration/title transferred to nj so I can get my car sorted out too...once that gets transferred I can go in and get my licence changed and my plates and stop worrying about that, right now im not doing any driving...just in case.
need to get my health insurance sorted out too. gonna have to call folks next week for that stuff...

You're going to need 6 points of ID to get your license. It can be a real PIA. I'm not sure since you're moving into the state what all they'll want-at least for proof of address. If you haven't looked into this yet, here's some info that might help you. http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Licenses/Replacing.htm

I saw that, I swear youd think folks were transporting dangerous toxic chemicals or something lol.

so we added baby goat #3 yesterday and he doesn't seem to be doing too hot...:/
hes an adorably 4lb nigi buckling, the breeder he came from gets good reviews form previous buyers, property was nice, barn was beautiful, very nice woman...
I noticed a lot of over ink for his tattoo, but her it happens...
he was quiet the ride hom and fairly quiet all night (in terms of activity not voice lol) but I figured he was just stressed/scared. he took an ounce here and there on the bottle and spent the night in the barn with the girls
this morning however he seemed to have no interest in the bottle...and was chilly so I brought him in to try again...nothing...
temp normal, only seen him poop twice today, once morning and it seemed a little dry...and once just now, he seems a little uncomfortable pooping and it was a tad clumpy/sticky...
just generally a "sleepy" goat...
so I took his temp, does him with some selenium with e gel and a b-complex shot...then tried a lunch bottle...nothing much there either...but I was looking at his ears where there was a lot of excess tattoo ink and noticed some weeping...
removal of as much ink as possible later and it looks like some kind of infection or allergic reaction, the tattoo itself seems fine, no swelling or redness or signs of infection, but all where the ink was thick and had dried clumpy it looked like a layer of skin had come off, he screamed while I rinsed and tried to as gently as possible wipe as much ink off as I could, those ears must be incredibly tender right now
posted some pics on facebook goat group and they all said infection so a round of pen-g it is...

the good news after his nap he wandered and even had some milk with a little encouragement, think hes got some gas as its like hes trying to burb then grinding...poor lil guy...hes only 4lbs. jasper likes him tough.
right now hes trying to eat my pants

ugh, goats, would be so much easier if they could just say what was wrong
