the only down side I can see with using wood for your truck would be that I think it would be difficult to drive any long distance...

I juiced over mature zuchinni and beets rather than store bought produce. Squash juice is so mild, it takes on the flavor of whatever else you juice with it. I usually do lemon, apple or pear, and squash with a carrot or beet. Seeds in the squash are a plus. Last year I learned that zuchinni, will keep 3 months at room temperature if they are not damaged. I beg giant ones from gardeners and decorate all my vertical surfaces with them. Makes me popular with gardeners and the juice makes me beautiful (just joking on the beautiful part). Winter squash and pumpkins juice well too.

That is interesting... I use overgrown zuchs in a dish my family loves and found when I grate and freeze it, it works just as well, so that's my storage/use. I will make a note of the juice though!

I shut down my extra freezer and started washing dishes by hand instead of using the dishwasher. I am also back to hanging clothes to dry. I got lazy using the dryer for a while.

Dried all the linens, blankets, and quilts on the line. We had a nasty stomach virus go through and I washed everything anyone had bundled up with. Lots of loads and lots of things on the line, the fences and the porch drying.

I've pulled out and dusted off the old bread machine I used to use all the time. I haven't used it in 6+ years (before our move back this way from the east coast). I figure if I make a loaf in it two to three times a week, the little bit of ingredients and power it uses will more than pay for itself and be better bread.
