Not really, just kids senior year and last summer before going off to college probably, so we tried to make the most of it :)

Hey, hey, hey! Glad the hand is better, please warn me when DD is gonna be on the road, and congrats on the new quail and the upcoming chicks! I'm filling incubators around here too.

Oh...and...please don't wait another three months before coming back, lol!

Awesome! Glad it can be changed!!! And thank you sumi, I'm glad you like to read my insane ramblings :D Fem, girlfriend, that child is on the road TOO MUCH I tell ya! I will be SOOOOO glad when she REALLY gets the hang of it, and pray it is before she does any real damage to anyone or anything! Shew, she scares me to death...and I have to ride with her :( My poor ole mailbox got clipped yesterday...darn thing stands like a drunk anyway...and now, I gotta fix it again..I'm sure the mail lady enjoys the many angles of what has become my stubborn drunken beaten ratty mangled box on a post out there. The county come by and mowed the ditches AND MY MAILBOX a few months ago, and they also "dig the ditches out"...which left it dangling precariously on the edge of a dang muddy canyon..but at least they didn't take any dirt with them...left it piled high on the edge and that was the only thing holding her there. When I got back from town I saw that and just shook my head...I'm pretty sure those county boys have huffed a few too many tractor fumes.

Anyway, on the homestead stuff...not much to see here, just same old habits, bread making, making some beef stew today, chicken wrangling/hatching, goat wrestling, duck chasing, quail breeding/eating, and turkeys and pigs and....oh yeah, fence mangling of course :p So needless to say I still have a couple critters, and my are they TASTY! :D And omg the pickled quail eggs last about 2 weeks tops. We have broke open jars within a couple days and they gone the next! I think I need more quail ;)

My mother is having knee replacement surgery Thursday, so I have to get niecey and her little dog this afternoon. Step right up and join the circus y'all!!! She'll be here a few weeks probably. Ha! My mother, she thinks she will feel well enough by Saturday for me to bring the child home...um..I have just agreed with her, no sense saying anything, she won't listen, but I bet the kid is here for a couple weeks minimum. Fine with me either way. I'll have a snuggle buddy again through the week, and we'll make cakes, and pack lunches, and sing songs, and talk on the ride to school every morning, and visit the Amish where she'll run with their 4 girls till she can't breathe hardly ;) Sounds like a plan to me :D

So, yeah. That's how my crazy life is going. And sumi...would you change my title to..."Welcome to the Assylum" ;)

Oh dang - I'm just gonna stay away from TN for a few years while she perfects her skills, lol!

Ya had to mention pickled quail eggs... I need to do some more. They are good eating for sure!

You're still outdoing me on the critters! No ducks, turkeys or pigs at my house right now. Probably never will be ducks - messy creatures! Thinking about getting a couple more pigs soon. Only thing stopping me is that my neighbor said he'd start giving me some of his wild harvested pigsters when his freezer is full. But, they eat pork as fast as they can skin it, lol. His freezer might not EVER get full!

Hope your mama does well with the knee surgery. Have fun with niecey. I'm with you thinking she'll be with you for awhile longer than a couple days for sure!

I plan on having a lot of deer this year, at least 5 or 6. Beef prices are just stupid. If I don't have a coupon, I aint buying it!! And I have had a few coupons lately ;) Now I'm overstocked on steak sauce though bc it was buy one, get "X" off any meat. Buuuuut I sell it for a bit more than what I paid, and still beat store prices. Time to hit the flea market and get me some more grocery money. Such a vicious cycle! LOL!
