getting there :D
since I didn't take into account that pallets are sometimes not EXACTLY 4ft, and that when you add a layer of plywood the dimensions change im in need of another sheet of roofing...but its ALMOST done...
gonna try and get it finished tomorrow...and start the piggy house tomorrow too.
im exhausted, im aching...well im more than aching...but I know if I stop moving thatll be it...so I need to get the goats, pigs and duck/geese set NOW before I start failing again...

in good news, I bought myself a present today...
I have a thing for onsie (and feety) pajamas...and generally for cozy jammies overall...we whent to Walmart today and the fall/winter stuff has started coming in, apparently foxes (and owls) are big this fall...apparently I was cool before it was cool lol.
anywho..they had fleece onsie jammies...with FOXES!!!

needless to say $10 later (I couldn't have bought the fleece to make them for that!) I am now cozy in super snuggly soft fleecy onsie jammies with foxies all over them.
they also had some with skulls with hearts for eyes (that match my tattoo) AND some with stars...so I know where $20 is going next month...
I don't buy myself things often...so this is a rare treat...and my goodness they are soft!

love these! lol.
im the same, if I don't get enough sleep forget it...mood goes on overdrive.

in BAD news, ive got a duck in the kitchen who I THINK got into something that's seriously disagreed with her...she was fine this morning whent out with her sisters, then about 3 hours later I noticed only 5 came running when I called, thought shed been eten by a yote until I checked neer the pen and she was laying unable to properly control her head and couldn't stand...whatever this is its hit her fast.
no injuries...no blockages that I can see or feel, crop feels normal, just suddenly incredibly weak, shaking, a little raspy and drooling...every so often shell have a muscle spasm too..
refuses to drink and eat so I just tubed her and put about 24ccs of activated charcoal and water into her...if she makes it to bedtime ill repeat...im not holding out much hope though...:/
the only think that makes sense is some kind of poisoning, shes the only one showing any kind of sympoms (though hers came on so suddenly) they did come on SOOOO suddenly
poor ducky, and so frustrating...
short of activated charcoal theres nothing I can do right now...I wish there was more I could do. :(
theres not much around here poisonous to ducks....the only think I can think of is the polk berries (and they've not shown any intert before) or something in the pond water, they don't spend much if any time down there though...they are afraid of the pond...

in GOOD news however, the shelter for the male goats is structurally complete and judging from the clouds, may be good timing...
its up, the roof is on, the hay bag and mineral feeders are hung, and theres 2 coats of red stain on it that should keep the ply safe from the rain. and im actually quite happy with the color even though it is only a semi transparent stain...its red, without being ketchup red...
I think once the white trim goes on it itll look great.

got to work on the one for the pigs next.

supposed to have been picking up little male piggy today but I don't think that's hpappening, she said shed email me by 4 and let me know whats going on (I don't want to be stuck in rushour traffic and am not supposed to drive at night...) so ill give her another 10 mins then email her to reschedual...shes an hour away and itll be too late by that point.
its ok though realy...I still need to work on the piggy house and their pen since mum doesn't realy want them in the barn (and neither do I realy, they need more attention than just me....and im the only one that does anything with anything in the barn...)

so I may start that one this afternoon...now im happy with how the shelters are going to look all finished...definatly NO shanties lol.
it may even be the construction method of choice for the duck house...assuming whatever has this girl in its throws doesn't take the others....

I did scrub their bowls and pen with bleach today though, just in case its a virus or something...*fingers crossed its just she got into something bad for her.

Near Vancouver, on the wet coast.
Sorry to hear about the duck, hope it gets thru the night, and the others don't get whatever it is. I am kinda giggling though about ducks being scared of the pond....

I know right...they seem terrified of the big puddle lol, 2 ducks will go in spash for a second then get out...the others will barely even go to the edge for a drink....which is even better cause dad only realy wanted the geese because hes got a pond and wanted them to keep th epond weed controlled lol.
(the ducks are for me...I miss my eggs LOL!)

in GOOD news, was greeted this morning by a big loud quack and a bright eyed alert and upright ducky, gave her some water and food which she ate, then she had a hisuy fit so she whent back out and is back with her flock...the turn around is amazing and I think confirms some kind of toxin...
she got 2 heavy doses of activated charcoal last night, she was acting more alert by the time I was giving her the second dose, but I still wasn't sure...but this morning she seems almost 100%, I wouldn't have let her out yet but she was definatly NOT happy in the crate and I figure better now shes strong enough to keep up to be back out with her flock than stressed and separated.
ill be keeping an eye on her though...

todays plan involves building the house for the piggies... they are getting a little too rowdy for the kitchen and are obviously bored....
mum wants to go into town today too so ill measure up for the roll of fencing to fence off the area the piggies will be confined to when were not home to let them wander around the back yard...
otherwise, not much going on...

kinda overcast and dreary today...but no rain on the radar.

Eeeeeee! Love the jammies! Where did you find them? Target had a lot of fox stiff in fall. They have a gorgeous dark tall green fox cookie jar that I covert. But we don't eat cookies lol and I don't have room to have another thing sit.
Glad the duck is feeling better!
