One thing I was thinking about...I'd like to grow avacados...I love avacados...avacados are very good for you....yum avacados!!!

But, is there a way to preserve avacados if one were to grow an abundance of them? I've heard of mashing them up and freezing them, and I know you can keep an unused half for days if you put lemon juice on it, but are there any other ways to preserve them for longer term storage?

None that I know of or have ever heard of. Best thing to do is eat all you can and share with family, friends and neighbors!

What a nice problem to have. I don't know of any way to preserve them but they would be a great barter item when you have too many.

I've never stored them before, so I don't know. We used to have a huge avo tree where I grew up and my brother and I would load up a wheelbarrow and walk around the neighbourhood, selling the ones we didn't eat/give away. Needless to say we didn't get far! They sold like hot cakes.

If I had an abundance I'd sell all I can't eat :) They are ridiculously expensive here, but we buy them anyway. Avo with blue cheese on a fresh roll... It's worth it!
