Groan..... Gotta say I had a good laugh from that!

Yep, I had to do another re-check on Splash today too. She was acting silly so I took her back to the buck pen and NOPE - she was having none of it either. These silly girls...they've got all the power right now and they're taking full advantage of the situation.

Cabbage, kale and broccoli plants are coming along... some of the other stuff is popping up too. Think I've got some turnips or is it rutabagas(?) breaking the surface. Every time I plant something I swear I'm gonna make myself a marker so I won't forget what's there - but do I ever do it - nope! I kinda like the surprise, lol.

I have stuff I planted that I'm not 100% sure yet as to what it is since certain plants in the same family look so much alike.

Creative-what can you plant this time of year? Is your weather mild enough for a fall/winter garden?

Deb, I do that ALL the time, lol. In fact, DH got me a set of metal plant markers as a gift last year. I used em for awhile and they did make it easier to keep my tomato varieties identified.

Frustrated-
Usually our weather is pretty mild for winter here in az, though the last couple of years we have gotten frost for a few weeks late December early january. I haven't done a winter garden yet myself (since until this point my sis and I lived in an apartment and I have a brown thumb when it comes to plants in pots ;_; ) but I've helped my mom with hers several times over the last few years. She's gotten tomatoes and peppers right through the year as well as zuchhini and a few strawberries even from her existing top tier patch! I'm not sure if her celery is still going strong but she got a huge bulb of celery root the previous year....speaking of which.... I should see if she will need some extra help with it this year or if she's going to skip out of due to things she cannot control....

Had to work a couple hours tonight. It's the college's annual fall festival and our group participates every year in a fund raising event. We run the cake walk - lotsa fun! The students worked hard and made over $600 dollars so they were really excited.

I'm excited too! The roofers are gone and the painters are gone and a big chunk of my money is gone too, lol. BUT - the house looks awesome! A new roof and fresh paint do wonders for a place. Tomorrow we'll be cleaning off the back porch and getting the hot tub back in shape. This is the time of year we can actually start enjoying the outside again. And, when I say I'm ready for some hot tub time - I. AM. READY. FOR. SOME. HOT. TUB. TIME!!!

I got Splash bred today. I wanted to breed her to Oreo - the F2 Kinder buck...but she was having none of it. He's young and she must've wanted a real 'grown-up' buck - not a kid, lol. So, she got a grown up real buck. It's so funny how she absolutely decided which buck was gonna get the privilege and which one wasn't. Can't blame a gal for being choosy now can ya?

They have every right to be both excited and proud.
