Can y'all just see the look of total relaxation on my face this morning??? I had some hot tub time last night! Now-it's not totally ready for soaking, but we cheated a little bit cuz as soon as that thermometer read 99 degrees we was IN it, lol. I was worried about DH getting in and out but he did pretty good. My biggest fear was that he wod slip and hit his side on the edge of the tub and break his ribs even more. So glad that didn't happen!

we finally have an explanation of why he's still having problems with his left side. He's got what is called a 'slipped rib' on that side....as if the 7 broken ribs on the other side weren't enough. It just means that rib slips in and out of place-so painful when it happens and it happens just about every time he breathes. I can even hear it click and if I put my hand on his chest I can feel it pop....yuck!

I'm going to make him an appt with an ortho guy and see what his advice is. From the research I've done it doesn't sound good... Not life threatening, but surely screws up the quality of life. He can't really use the arm on that side because it pulls on those muscles and pops that rib out of place. My poor DH. He didn't need this on top of his other health challenges...:(

I got a little more area in the small garden cleaned up and planted a lettuce mix and started some more napa cabbage and broccoli plants.

Having retirement dreams lately-but have at least 5 more years...unless win the lottery! :fl:fl:fl

Yikes! Wish my body worker were closer to you. She works wonders and is often able to fix problems conventional doctors can't.
Hope he finds more healing quick!
Yay hot tub time! I'm jealous!

We've got an apt with an orthopedic doc on Friday.... we'll see what he has to say.

Well the good news is that I was home and caught it before it became a big problem - and the bad news is that the electrical box to my hot tub CAUGHT FIRE :somad this afternoon. I was going in and out of the house in my feeding routine and smelled something....that burning plastic nasty smell that always means something is WRONG. I was headed for the garage to look around but I had a bucket in my hand so I stepped out to the back porch to set it down and could see smoke coming from the box. (The box is on the back porch, right next to the hot tub) I yanked the fuse thingy outta there and thankfully the fire went right out. It was a tiny fire, but who knows if it woulda grown. That stupid thing coulda really messed up my freshly painted house...grrrrrr!

We're supposed to be getting cooler for a few days. It was cloudy most of the afternoon and looked like the heavens were gonna open up, but it all skipped right over us. I'm not complaining about that at all!

Got a whopping 3 eggs today.....three...only one more than two...from about 50 - 60 chickens. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? I'm still putting out feed, they're still eating it...but production is ridiculously low. Low is not even a good word for it...dang near non-exist ant...stoopid chickens.

In other feather-y news, I should have a new batch of baby quail in a day or so. If things go according to plan, that is. I never count them little critters until they're running around the incubator.

Pork chops are waiting...gotta go!

oh FEM that could have really put a hurting on that new coat of paint. thank God you were there and smelled it.
and poor DH, he can't catch a break can he. have youall thought about a chiropractor for his 'popping' rib? sometimes they can correct something like that better than conventional medicine. just a thought.

I 2nd the chiropractor. Seems to me I had something similar, and my chiropractor took care of it in short order.

I've suggested that to him, but because my DH IS conventional medicine he's not fond of the unconventional avenues...:hu But if it keeps up- I might be able to convince him. One of his therapists mentioned DMSO to him the other day and he's considering it, but first he wants to see the orthopedic doc. Maybe he'd go for a therapeutic massage at least. He's getting real tired of this so pretty soon I'm sure he'll start looking for anything that will help!
