@ Britesea that's the first thing i thought of when i saw them but its the wrong time of the year and they are a different size and shape then the cucumber beetles I've had around here and they were swarming with the ladybugs so i gave them a pass. several years ago the forest service let loose millions of ladybugs in the national forest behind me and my guess is these were descendants of them

If they were really green, the weren't ladybugs. There are no green ladybugs. They do come in other colors though, and have various numbers of spots.

The ladybugs that they let loose may have been an Asian ladybug. You can tell them by looking at the head. They have more white than black.

i'll have to give them a closer look and see what color their heads are. on another note i lost my Ben this afternoon, somehow he got out on the road down in front of the house and was hit by a car. he was killed instantly. i have good woven wire fencing all along there and have no idea how he managed to get out but he did. when i went out to feed and he wasn't there with the goats waiting for his supper i knew in my heart something bad had happened so i went looking for him and when i couldn't find him here on the farm i got in the car and headed down the road and there he was. i am so sick............

thanks guys, I'm just broken hearted. he was developing into such an awesome guardian. i don't know what I'm going to do next. i can't afford another Maremma right now so i'll just have to be hyper vigilant for a while.

I've had an insane week, my worker bee friend and i started Monday working on the glass house and storage building and they both now have electric and the glass house is set up for the kiln, happy, happy, happy. Tuesday, on to the lumber yard and back to tear off and replace the chicken house roof. new roof profile, dry chickens in a storm and they are happy too. Wednesday, a long list of honey do's that take hands stronger than mine plus mudding and texturing the living room walls getting them ready to paint. today was go to town day, it takes an hour to get to town, to the paint store pick up the paint for the living room, on to get baby stuff for my great grand babys shower this weekend, then to wally world for a list of stuff, then to the feed store, then that same hour back. makes for a long day. all the living room furniture is pushed into the middle of the room so tomorrow i get to start painting. yippy skippy. then i get to try to put the house all back together and make supper before dd and sil get here tomorrow night. no rest for the weary, or so i hear.
