Hiya everyone! Hope everyones doing good today!! :3
Its a very nice Sunday out and I don't have to work. The food place we went to friday had pears on sale, a box of 58 pears for $15.00, so I bought one and am canning pears for later enjoyment :3

Weird and curious question maby but does anyone else find that most recipes don't make enough liquid for the amount of jars/cans you use?
I used a recipe from the electric canner page (the brand I have) and it only made enough liquid for 2 and a half of the jars pictured below (pints). I encountered the same problem with the pickling solution I made for all those garden mixes I made a little bit ago.

Well I'm off to finish up and I hope everyone is having a great day!!!

I've never had that problem, in fact I often have leftover liquid.

Its weird, I checked to be sure I measured everything right ( ended up doing 24 cans) and double checked but still came up short so I doubled the s.s recipe and ended up with extra in the end -shrug- oh well, there's honey simple syrup for granola or oatmeal then lol

Plenty of canning and new attempts today!

First time canning salsa (did water bath and quarts for the first time)
Also canned cowboy candy today (I used car I be peppers instead of jalapeños, the caribes are nice and hot- they even smelt hot while cutting them!)
Also did a few cans of yellow beans (the electric canner/cooker)

Did some cleaning in the main room and the Twinnie and I got our new couch in. Definatly comfier than the old one and not bird blood stained (our lolly rescue likes to bring in pigeons and doves to snack on around the house :( )
Also! We found out cadbury is not a male! He's really a she! -shrug- oh well I guess, just gotta take the time to find a nice hopefully nzw for the girls.

Hope everyone's doing well and safely!

I usually run about even or just a tad short. I stuff a lot more fruit in the jar before adding the syrup though. It looks like some of those jars of pears will look 1/2 and 1/2 pears and syrup after canning.
