Hope you don't get a fire. We've been blessed to never have one. I keep an eye on the woods for just that reason.

Did almost nothing today. I was tired, so I did take a nap. We ate out yesterday and I must have eaten something I shouldn't have. I have IBS and my belly hurts.

I did work w/Licorice a bit today. I did some research yesterday and came up w/a way to work w/her. I cut a piece of baling twine, then put her halter on, and worked on getting that in her mouth. She was taking it very nicely, then just letting it fall out of her mouth. I'll continue doing that for a bit, then switch to a wider piece of string. Eventually I'll use the bit instead.

I feel like going back to bed. I'm tired. Hubby has left for work, so I just may. But then again I have a lot to do today. My list for today is:

1. Dishes
2. Housework
3. Normal farm chores
4. Clean field-I don't know if I can dump it or not since it's so wet at the farm
5. Clean hay shelter/tack shed/feed stall
6. Work w/horses
7. Clean hay shelter at home-I want to start filling it tomorrow
8. Wood shed
9. Normal animal chores

That's enough for today.

I had trouble getting starting today and then I didn't want to stop! I didn't really do anything B4 I left for the farm. And I left later than I'd planned. I had a phone call when I was getting ready to leave that I had to take, then I had trouble getting them to stop talking so I could leave.

I get just a few miles from the farm when I see something I've never seen B4. On the road I needed to turn onto was a whole convoy of bucket trucks. I don't know if they were for the electric or tree work. There was a big enough break in the line for me to get in on my bike. Get up to the next intersection and they had 2 trucks act as blockers so they could all get thru. Of course, I went thru as well. We come up to the road the farm is on and they all turn! Then they turned again right B4 the farm. Since they were making a right, I pulled out and passed them all.

I was able to get my field cleaned, but couldn't spread the manure. W/all the rain that we got last week, I couldn't drive in CL's field. I'm hoping it dries out enough by tomorrow so I can. If not, I might see about going down the lane to LF's field, then going thru it. I don't really want to, but it might be the only way I can empty the spreader.

The hay shelter is cleaned out. I was going to finish putting the furring strips on the side but decided to wait until next Monday. Then I'll know if I need any more. And I've finally figured out how to do the doors. I'm going to use Velcro to keep them closed. Then I'll have it so I can roll them up for putting hay in.

I did some measuring of the feed stall. I'm going to try and get that all cleaned out, then work on finishing it. I cut one 2x12 that I need. I need a couple more that size. I hope I can get them next Tuesday.

I also worked w/Misty and Licorice a bit. I would have liked to have put them in the RP, but it was just too wet for me to get them there-especially since Misty doesn't like to get her feet wet! People don't understand why I want to make my own RP. OK, let me see, I have to fight off other horses at times to get there, I have to chase horses away from the RP when they're being nosy since they interrupt what I'm doing, I can't always use it because of how wet it can be in the field I have to cross....there's other reasons, but that should give you a bit of a clue as to why I hate to use it.

I got Stormy fed, got feed bagged and was ready to get the chickens rounded up when I remembered that I needed to set something up for the chicks I have at home. It's time for them to go out to the farm and I had no place to put them! I got that all set up, got everyone fed and watered, then had to round up some of them. They were under the semi trailer that RU uses for carts and tack and they're hard to get out from under there. I'm not even counting them for now. They just don't hold still long enough for me to get an accurate count.

I got home and relaxed for a bit. Then I finished loading the dishwasher and ran it for a bit while I worked in the basement. When the dishwasher was done, I went out and fed the animals. Then I got started on the hay shelter. I got half of it cleaned, but that's enough for now. W/that done, I got the pallet cut for the woodshed, then started doing wood! I don't have even enough for 1 day, but it felt good to get started. I didn't want to stop. I got done much later than I'd planned.

Now I've had my shower, had something to eat and am relaxing a bit b4 I head to bed.

I slept fairly well last night so I'm hoping I get a lot done. Hubby has left for work so I'm wanting to get going. I have a lot to do today. I have chicks to take out to the farm. I'm going to the hay auction. I'm going to Bible study and I hope I'm going to get the manure spread. And if I get done early enough, I may even do some wood! So my list for today is:

1. Laundry
2. Housework
3. Dishes
4. Normal animal chores-take chicks to farm
5. Spread manure
6. Bible study
7. Hay auction-unload and stack hay
8. Yard/garden/orchard
9. Wood
10. Normal animal chores

It's hard to believe it's already the end of June! I'm farther ahead in some ways than I was last year, but in others, I'm farther behind, so I need to get busy.

Today started out good. I was able to get done what I needed to do B4 leaving. I'm getting ready to leave when I remembered that I needed feed! I went to the feed store last week, and they didn't have Misty's feed. I debated if I should just head there, or go to the farm first. I finally decided, that since I had the chicks, I was going to go to the farm first. And I'd also call the feed store to be sure they had the feed in. It's a good thing I did it that way. They were having trouble finding the feed in their computer. I finally ended up reading the numbers off an old feed tag, then they were able to find it, so I got my feed. Since I was hoping for hay, I stuck the feed in the back seat of the truck.

Once I had the feed, I headed for Bible study, then the hay auction. They didn't have a lot of squares. W/all the rain, they weren't really baling it. They did have a lot of rounds, though. PT went to the auction and got 9 bales for a total of $130! She was thrilled. They also had some junk RBs. I got 2 of them for a grand total of $4.00. I'll leave them sit all summer, then come fall, I'm going to cover the garden w/cardboard, then all the stuff from where I've been doing wood for years, then hay. I'll let that sit all winter, and also add anything from the goats, chickens and ashes. I'm thinking this will really improve my soil a lot!

After the auction, I head back to the farm, get Stormy fed, take care of the chickens and head home. It started to rain while I was driving! Since I didn't get hay today, I brought home a bale for the goats. The only place I could put it was in my back seat. I was glad. It stayed dry.

Got home, got the clothes down then checked the radar and decided to wait a bit B4 feeding the goats. I finally decided I could go ahead and feed them. I get them and Thumper Bunny fed, was getting some water and it started to rain again. I got in the house and it started to pour! We didn't get a lot of rain, only about 1/10", but it was enough to make everything wet. Hubby and I moved some stuff around in the yard and got the hay off. I also pulled some more ragweed over by the woodshed. I wanted to work on the wood, and got a couple of pieces put in there, but the rest needed to be cut. And since it was so late by the tie I got out, I just didn't have time.

I'm not really tired, but I think I need to get to bed soon. I have a lot to do in the morning and if I don't go to bed, I'll be too tired in the morning to do it all.

Today is going to be another hot one. They're calling for a high in the 90s, and I know it's going to be humid, so I'll do as much as I can. I'm thinking of leaving for the farm early. That way, I can get done out there, then head home and do housework when it's too hot outside. So, I guess I'd better get moving. My list for today is:

1. Normal farm chores
2. Work w/horses
3. Work in feed stall
4. Housework
5. Dishes
6. Laundry
7. Yard/garden/orchard
8. Wood
9. Normal animal chores
10. Motorcycle run

That's enough, and I need to get moving.

Today was not as bad as I was expecting. It was hot, but breezy and not as humid. So it actually didn't feel that bad. And I'm glad I spread the manure yesterday. There was quite a bit of rain overnight out at the farm! I wouldn't have been able to get thru CL's field if I had waited!

Because it was so wet, I had to change what I was going to do w/the horses, but I was still able to work w/them a bit. And I worked on the tack stall. I think B4 I do more, I need to work some on the run in. I want to move the door to Licorice's stall, but in order to do that, I have to take the wall apart and take out a couple of 4x4s and move them.

When I got home, I didn't feel like doing anything. I did take a nap and relaxed for awhile B4 doing anything. I got the dishes done. I got half a basket of shirts ironed. And I changed the sheets on my bed. W/that all done, I went out and washed my motorcycle best I could. Then I worked on wood. As I was getting the wood cut up and put away, I was pulling weeds up from where I took the wood. Then I went on my motorcycle ride. Now I'm relaxing and getting ready for bed.
