What a day! I was able to make my cookies and do some dishes B4 I left. I was able to get everyone fed B4 I left for my lesson. After my lesson, I was supposed to mow part of the farm. So, I get on the tractor, and head out. I hadn't mowed long when the belt came off the mower. I didn't have a clue how to put it back on, nor did I have any tools, so I headed up to the shop barn.

EH's hubby, DH said the belt kept coming off, so he decided to put a new one on. It took the 2 of us to do it. Then he gave me some tools, and I headed back out. I started mowing again, got past where the belt had come off and had it come off again! So, I started trying to get it back on. DH saw that the tractor wasn't running, so he came out. We got the belt back on, and I started mowing again. Since I was mowing next to the woods, I had thought that I had maybe hit something that knocked it off.

I started mowing again from where I had stopped. Got done along the woods, then started mowing along the fence. Next thing I knew, the belt came off again! I tried to get it back on, but couldn't. I finally said forget it, and headed back up. I had other things I could work on, and did them instead.

When I was done work, I loaded Misty up on the trailer and went back to the farm. There's a reason I try not to have my lesson on a Monday. I still had the field to clean. Get it all clean, get hay out, then hubby called. Told him I'd be a bit longer. Get the manure spread, then needed to give everybody water. There was very little in the stock tank, and the chickens were out. So, I start scrubbing the tank when my phone rings. I can't read who it was w/out my glasses, but it was a name and not a number, so I answered it. It was KN. I was a bit breathless, and she commented on it. Told her what I was doing and rather than telling me to call when I can talk, she starts telling me all about her day. I finally had to tell her I couldn't talk since I wanted to get done and go home. So she hangs up.

I had to bag feed for Stormy and had to open a new bag. I open it up, pour it in the can and realize it's moldy! So, I had to get another bag out and hope that it wasn't moldy. Plus I had to empty the can back out. At least the other bag wasn't moldy. Get that done and gave the chickens food and water. Then I remembered that my trailer was still hooked up and all my tack was in it as well as all the posts I have for my RP. So I got the trailer unhooked, then took out my tack and put it away and got all the posts unloaded. I need a total of 26 for my RP. I had 15 in my truck. I'm pretty sure there's still enough kicking around the farm to finish it.

By the time I got done and headed home, it was after 5:00. I was beat. I came home and relaxed for quite some time B4 heading out to do the animals. I did a little in the garden, but not much. I hear my bed calling my name.

Hubby took the day off, so I don't know that I'm getting anything done this morning! I do have a load of clothes in the washer, but that's about it. I need to get moving and get some stuff done, I'm just not sure what all I'm doing at home. But this is what I want to do:

1. Dishes
2. Laundry
3. Housework
4. Go to TSC and exchange the moldy bag of feed
5. Normal farm chores
6. Bible Study
7. Appointments
8. Errands
9. Normal animal chores
10. Motorcycle run

I just don't know how much I'll actually be able to do.

Today was hot. It was so hot I didn't even pen up the chickens when I left. I knew I had to go past the farm on my way home from the motorcycle run. So I stopped on the way home and took care of them. I also gave Stormy a bit more feed, not a whole lot-just 1/2 pound. It was really nice riding home. If I had my tack shed all set up, I think I would have spent the night at the farm.

I got everything done except for the dishes. I could have had them done if I had skipped dinner, but I figured dinner was a bit more important. I don't know if I'll do them in the morning. They're calling for T storms in the afternoon. So I'm thinking about working in the garden early, then doing housework later. It's going to depend on what they're saying in the morning.

Going to be a nasty day today. It's already close to 80* out there! I'm thinking I'm going to work outside first, then do housework this evening since we could get T storms. I want to leave fairly early so I can get done early. So my list for today is:

1. Yard/garden/orchard
2. Work
3. Normal farm chores
4. Work w/horses
5. Work around tack shed/hay shelter
6. Normal animal chores
7. Housework
8. Laundry
9. Dishes

Hubby's left, and I need to get busy.

I am so glad I worked on the garden this morning, I would not have been able to do it this afternoon. It's pouring! So I'm taking a bit of a break. Once the rain stops, I'll be going out and feeding the goats and Thumper. Then I'll come in and do some housework, laundry and the dishes.

I had a good day at the farm. I was able to groom all of the horses and put fly spray on them. And since Stormy was really relaxed, I was able to clean a bit more of him than normal.

I also worked w/Licorice on taking the bit. I had a piece of baling twine, some narrow clothes line, a thicker piece of rope, the bit and a licorice stick. She took the twine w/no problem, so I tried the clothes line-no problem. Then I tried the rope. Still no problem, so I tried the bit. She gave me some trouble, but nothing like in the past-she didn't try to rear once! She still wanted to throw her head up when I went to remove it, so I worked on keeping her head down and getting her to drop it. She did much better. Then I took the piece of licorice, got her to open her mouth, and stuck that in instead, took her halter off, and turned her loose.

I kept telling myself that I had done enough. No one was there. I didn't really need to work w/Misty. But I also knew I needed to. So, I tacked her up, and led her into the field. First we worked on having her come to the mounting block. She was trying to keep her hind quarters away. Finally got her lined up right, got on the mounting block, put a foot in the stirrup, but didn't get on. She just stood there. Got back down, walked her around again, took her back to the mounting block, got her squared up to it, and mounted. She didn't move. So I started riding her around. I didn't ride long, only for about 10 minutes. But, she didn't spook once. She gave me a bit of trouble about listening, but we'll be working on that. I'm hoping to ride her again on Friday, only this time I'll ride longer.

Today is going to be another hot one. I'm heading to work for a couple of hours B4 heading to the farm, so I'm not going to be on here long this morning. I don't know if I can work outside or not. I don't know how wet it is. I need to do laundry, but I think I'll throw the clothes in the washer B4 I leave, then hang them outside once I get home. So my list for today is:

1. Housework
2. Laundry
3. Work
4. Normal farm chores
5. Clean field and mow
6. Work on making my RP
7. Yard/garden/orchard
8. Dishes
9. Normal animal chores

I'm slowly making progress!

Slowly but surely. Unless something crazy happens, I should be able to start riding her again this month! Then eventually, I'll be able to let my niece ride her.

What a day! I got a lot done, just not my whole list.

I had planned on working in the garden early, but it was too wet, so I wouldn't have been able to do what I'd planned. So instead, I did some housework and threw a load of clothes in the washer. I had planned on taking my bike-until I looked at the radar. They were showing a whole line of storms heading our way. Since EH wanted me to mow, I figured I'd better call her and see if she still wanted me to come and work this morning. We decided it would be better for me to come later. Then I got a bright idea.

Since RU got rid of the jimson weed that I had for shade for my chickens, I decided to plant volunteer tomatoes along the fence in their pen instead. Rather than waiting out the storm, I decided to run out, gently pull out all the tomatoes, put them in buckets of water, and take them to the farm today. That way I could leave earlier rather than later. So it was raining when I left.

It had stopped by the time I got to the farm. So I fed everyone, then took all the tomatoes out of my truck and stuck them in front of my tack shed. I have that rigged so the horses can't get to that area.

Once everyone was done eating, I let my horses out in the parking area, then started working on cleaning the field. I knew there was no way I could use the manure spreader, so I used my cart. Only problem being, I had a flat! I kept pumping up the tire hoping it would hold the air enough for me to dump the cart. No such luck. I don't know if the tube is destroyed or not. I'll have to yank off the tire and check it out.

W/that done, I got the field mowed. I didn't realize until I was almost done that the mower didn't stay at the height I had it set at. I don't know how much of the field got mowed w/the mower all the way down. I didn't want it that low! But maybe it's a good thing. Maybe that will get rid of the buttercups.

W/the field mowed, I then moved on to the RP. But to do that, I decided to move the one post that I use for sectioning off my field. Got that moved, got the wires back up to keep the horses out of that area, and started my measuring. It took much longer than I was expecting, but I got it all done! Tomorrow I'll start putting the posts up. Once done, it will be about 60' in diameter.

If I had gotten done earlier, I would have gone to EH's, then come back and fed Stormy. But it was getting late, so I got him fed, put out hay and got the chickens taken care of. Went to EH's and mowed for a couple of hours, then headed home.

It was around 5:30 when I got home, and I had to relax for a bit. Finally got up, went out and fed the goats and Thumper. W/them fed, I started working in my garden. I have a bunch of asparagus coming up in the wrong place. I know this is the wrong time of the year to transplant it, but I tried transplanting it in the spring B4 and it didn't work that well. And since it was getting ready to rain, I figured this might be a good time to try. I got about half of it done. I'm not quite ready to plant the rest, so it worked out.

Since I got home so late, I didn't have time to put the clothes out on the line. So once I was done outside, I came in, threw the clothes in the dryer and got a shower. I had planned on cleaning the bathroom, but it was getting late. I had also planned on doing dishes, but didn't. So, I'll do that in the morning. I figure I did enough for the day.
