Another busy day, but after this, my Tuesdays won't be as busy. I got my dishes caught up this morning, got the bathroom clean and ironed a few shirts B4 heading to the farm. Stopped and filled up the gas cans I use for the bike on the way. Got everyone fed, then headed to Bible study.

After Bible study, I went to the feed store and TSC. Then, I went to the farm and gave Stormy his lunch. I also filled in some holes in chicken pen #2, and put down the hardware cloth where I'll be putting up the fence for that broody pen.

Since I needed to get some wood for the gates, I went to my appointments B4 giving Stormy his last feeding. I only have to go to the allergist 1 more time for regular shots! And I've switch the day I'm going for the venom shots to Thursday mornings. I've also decided that next year I'm going to stop all together. I got stung yesterday and hardly had a reaction, so why keep going?

I stopped at Wal-Mart and Lowes and got some stuff I needed, then headed back to the farm. Got Stormy fed, got hay out for everyone, got everything out that I needed at the farm, then got some trash collected and left.

Got home, got animals fed, watered all my plants then went out w/m motorcycle group. They were calling for rain, so we drove instead of riding. Good thing, it poured! Now I'm relaxing for a bit, then heading to bed.

I now have 3 broodies! The one is going to hatch out at any time now. And, I didn't get the first house done.

First off, they changed the forecast. There was a chance of rain this morning. So I didn't want to get everything all opened up then have it start to rain. Instead I was nice and got horses back in the fields they belonged in-they busted thru a gate. I wasn't going to do it, but wanted to kill a bit of time. It didn't take that long and once I was done, I decided to get started.

Everything is cut and most of it is put together. Once I had 3 sides done, I got the inside painted then caulked as much as I could. I also painted the inside of the other wall and one side of the roof. I plan on getting to the farm early tomorrow so I can finish. Depending on which forecast you look at depends on the time the rain is going to start. I need to have it all done B4 the rain hits. I'll paint the other side of the roof as soon as I'm done feeding so it can dry while I get the rest done.

Once I was done as much as I could do, I went down front and got one of my old broody houses, put it on my wagon and brought it down back. I was able to get it into the broody pen on the other side of the house. I cut a piece of mesh, put it over the door, put shavings in it, then eggs and my newest broody. I expected her to try to get out. Nope. She settled right down on the eggs! This is my best broody. She raised 2 sets of chicks for me last year, and went broody after that. I just didn't let her raise more.

Once home, I worked in my garden for a bit. I got about half of the rest of the path between my garden and hubby's garden. I get the feeling that I'm going to have to do his as well.

Hubby made dinner, so after I ate, I got the dishes done. Now I'm relaxing for a bit, then I'm heading to bed.

At least you got rain, we got nothing out of that threat of storms except crazy wind to blow all the pollen around! Very annoying! Its supposed to rain today, so I'm hopeful. I need a break in the yellow ick!

And we're getting more rain than I want! Hope you got some of the rain.

B4 I left this morning, I finally got my ironing all caught up. Then I made pancakes for breakfast, and took the leftovers w/me for lunch. Got everyone fed and groomed, then finished the caulking and painting on the house. While I was waiting for it to dry so I could put the rest of it together, I started to clean LF's field. I didn't get done. It started to rain right around lunch time. I had planned on putting it all together while Stormy ate. Instead, I just put the roof on top w/out having the hinges on it, then covered it w/a tarp. Then I got some feed bagged and swept part of the feed stall.

Only problem being, I was a bit wet and it was cold! So I went to a few stores. I didn't buy much, but by the time I got back to the farm, it was time for Stormy's dinner. So, I got him fed, got hay out, got the chickens taken care of and left. When I got home, I took care of the animals, then went in. I was going to do some more cleaning in the kitchen, but I just didn't feel like it. Hubby had made dinner, so I ate, played on the computer, went out and checked on my broody (good thing, she had gotten out to stretch her legs and got back in in the wrong box), came in got a fire going, got bread cooking and got my shower. The bread is almost done and I need to put clean sheets on the bed. But that's it. Tomorrow I should be able to finish that house. I don't know that I'll be able to clean any manure. It doesn't spread good when wet. If not, I'll have to wait and do it on Saturday.

I finally got the last of my kitchen cabinets cleaned and the rest of the floor scrubbed. I didn't do dishes yesterday or today. I was just too tired. I think it's due to the weather. It's been cloudy since Tuesday evening. We've gotten some rain, I'm just not sure how much.

Because it was so miserable out, I got up late, got done the kitchen late, so I left for the farm late. But once I got to the farm, I got done what I wanted to do. The broody house is ready for chicks. Broody pen #2 has the fence up and a gate on it. I don't remember if I told y'all that KN decided not to do chickens any longer, so she gave me 2, a buff Orpington and a red sex link. They are in that pen w/a igloo style dog house for shelter. Next week, I'll be getting the last pen done as well as a house for in there. But, I'm not going to make it as big. In fact, I think I'm going to sell the one that I made eventually. For the number of chicks I plan on raising at a time, I don't need one that big. If I make it the size I'm planning on making I can actually fit 2 in each broody pen. So, I'd be able to have 2 hens at a time in each pen.

I also worked on the fence for LF. I had hoped to have it all done this week, but w/the weather, it didn't happen. And that's probably just as well. She and DM are getting a 12x24 shed for hay storage. We may have to take down the fence to get the shed in there. So until the shed gets there and gets in place, we've decided it would be better for me to wait.

I still don't have any chicks. I hope they hatch out soon! I'm getting tired of waiting for them and I'm sure my hen is probably getting tired of sitting there!

I have my first pip! So, my hen will not be disturbed now until I see her wanting to get out. I have her blocked in the nesting box, but she is able to get up and move a bit. I'm still waiting on the eggs in the incubator. So when I get to the farm today, I'll be putting shavings in the little house. I'm just not putting any food in until I bring her and the chicks out.

I'm as bad as a kid on Christmas morning. I don't want to disturb my hen, but at the same time, I wanna see what she has under there. I know one has hatched and another egg was peeping, but hadn't pipped. Maybe it's a good thing that it's dark out.

Had a pretty good day today. Hubby wanted to go out to breakfast and wanted to leave early. While I was waiting on him to wake up, I got the walls in my bathroom scrubbed! They were filthy as well. I plan on scrubbing that floor as well and I need to wash the cabinet in there. But, I was out of my Murphy's oil soap, so had to get it when we were out. That will get done next week.

We also went to Lowes-got nothing, Home Depot, got a couple of things, Wal-Mart, finally found the shorts I've been needing since last year, then grocery shopping. When we got home, I got stuff put away, then took a nap.

After my nap I went to the feed store. I needed a couple of new chick feeders and waterers. They had the bases, but no tops. I did get some shavings. Then I headed to the farm. Got everyone fed and got shavings in the new house. I also added a board for a ramp. Then I headed to TSC and got the feeders and waterers in there. Went home from there.

At home, I got everyone fed and checked my plants. They needed to be watered, so I did that. I also cut some wood. It's going in the 40s tonight and it's going to rain tomorrow w/a high only in the 50s. So, I have a fire burning. Hubby made dinner. After dinner, I did dishes and made brownies.

It's late, so I think I'm going to head to bed. I'm watching the Philllies, they're winning 4-3, and they're 2 outs away from winning the game. Hopefully they'll win and I can go to bed!

I now have 5 chicks! There's still 1 egg that hasn't pipped, but it still has time, and nothing from the bator yet.

It is cold and wet out there. So, after church, I ran out to the farm and put rain sheets on my horses. I really wish I had done it yesterday B4 I left. And while they're calling for it to stop raining around 4:00, they keep changing the forecast, so I'll be leaving the sheets on them overnight. I'm hoping they won't need them anymore this week. They're calling for a ton of rain!
