So true...I figure after all the money we spent building our coop and run, buying natural food and treats, and keeping them in pine chips and sweet PDZ, we pay much too much per egg. It would have been much cheaper to buy eggs from the lady down the street!

I sell a few and some say they don't buy because $2 for my FRESH eggs, from free range hens is more than a dozen month old at WM. They do not know or believe store eggs are 4-6 wks old when they arrive at the store!
I eat about 6 eggs a month, personally. Have 40+ hens...
