Hello!

I am currently in GA and have lived in several places/countries. For a few years now, I have been thinking about going back to my roots. My family were sort of self sufficient growing up before moving to the U.S. I really miss a huge tropical garden, chickens etc. So, I'm here to learn and share what I know. As I get closer to my goal of moving back, I hope to share that story ;-)

WeAreBornFree so happy you joined. Would love to hear more about your roots. I was born in Arkansas. My grandparents were sharecroppers and I was raised hearing stories about farm life and the Great Depression.

Hi, and welcome from Texas! Where were you before moving to the US. "Tropical garden" must be a clue! :)

Welcome from Texas. Are you going to move back to your roots in the US or another country? Either way, we are delighted to have you here with us. Are you on acreage now or a city lot? You can do a lot in a small space, I gardened and had chickens in town before we bought our 8 acres. Pictures! We love pictures!

Basil and Aloe vera are both very useful SS plants! Have you ever had a glass of ice water with a couple basil leaves floating in it. That's good stuff! And aloe vera! Oh man, a multitude of SS uses for that plant! See there- you have a wonderful start!

Lol @baymule

I love Aloe Vera. It makes a great face mask. I also use it in juices. My plants have to be fighters, I forget to water them since there's only two, lol. Even the basil will seem dried and dead...then I water it once and WHOOSH! it plumps up again. I do look forward to having more one day. I have lots of books on gardening and holistic/herbal medicine to prepare.
