I am looking for advice on how to remove chemical residue from an elderly woman's home. I am her Care-giver at the moment, but before I started it was her daughter taking care of her. Well, I guess the lady had fleas so the daughter bombed, and then used 2 different sprays (raid and ortho)...

Do you ever get the cooking blahs?!

This is exactly what we do! Supper during the summer is very light or BBQ, but we eat more for breakfast while it's still cool. :) I have been known to make Macaroni salad or potato salad, etc either the night before or in the morning after breakfast so on a really hot, lazy day I have...

    Non-Food Consumables

Do you have a dollar store nearby - A true dollar store, like everything is a dollar or less? I tend to get my razors there as well as some other things, depending on what they have in stock (sometimes they have oxi-clean!). Also could you boil your toothbrushes once a month rather than buy...

Boyd - Day in the life of a hillbilly stuck in Michigan..

Ok I am curious (since I would like to have meat rabbits in the near future), Do you keep them outside in their hutches during the winter? I assume a Michigan winter is similar to a Maine winter, but I guess I always thought I would have to build a big shed/barn just to keep the hutches in if...

How are the gas prices in your area?

Maybe someone can explain this to me, but it says in the article that the price will drop apx 50 cents in the next several monthes; but I don't recall it taking several monthes to climb 50cents. Why did prices rise so quick but are really slow to fall back?

    Improving cast iron skillets

I apologize for hi-jacking this thread, but while we are on the topic of cast iron skillets.... I found a cast iron skillet that is covered in rust (but it doesn't seem to be rusted through - if that makes sense). Is there any way for me to salvage this skillet? If so how would I do this?

Hmm interesting. We already make our own toothpaste (dry) which is just baking soda, salt, Xylitol, and some wintergreen e.o. Does this work? Has anyone noticed a difference after doing this?
