Thank you everyone! I'm so excited, and in looove lol. They've been with me since they were a day old and I'm their mama.
They apparently believe that I can feed them from random places on my body. My fingers, toes, ears, neck and hair have all been "tested" for milk flow.
They were born on April 7th.
Lucy is on the left, Ethel is on the right.
I got them when they were a day old, and have been bottle feeding them.
My DH is building them the goat "shack" as he calls it, but it is in no way a shack. I'll post pictures of it when it's more complete.
My DD Mallory...
Hi all,
I haven't read this thread all the way through yet, but I wanted to share because I'm getting pretty excited.
My dad was building two hives last winter and had ordered his bees to arrive in April of 08. He had finished one hive and was working on the other when he passed away in...
Bringing Frees idea over from the saving money thread about using twine from hay for handles on reuseable bags....
I figures I would cut some wide strips (4-6 inches) from one of my feed bags and fold it over, sew down the length of it, then sew it on as handles. I'm thinking if I sew it on...
Hi all!
I have a stockpile of feed bags from my chickens. I haven't thrown out any of them since I firt got chickens a year ago. They are a couple different sizes, and made out of a woven plastic. None are fabric.
I can't throw them out, I was thinking of making some reusable grocery bags out...
Okiemommy,
my system is pretty close to yours. I just sat down with a notebook and listed every meal I know how to make. Then I broke the meals down by ingredient.
Since I buy in bulk, I usually have most of the dry ingredients on hand. I only have to buy the perrishables every month, meat...
Free, I see why you love goats so much. I went to a swap meet and a woman was selling two little two week old girls with their mommy. They were so cute. I held them and they just snuggled right up.
One woman was selling a day old male without it's mommy. Is that right? It was like 12 hours old...
I LOVE this series! I can't wait for the newest one out in September. It's so interesting, her knowledge of herbs, her frequent foraging for medicines.
The author really took her time researching this material.
This thread is very inspiring and I enjoy reading it.
I saved $15 yesterday. Two pound bricks of Tillamook cheese were on sale for $4.99 instead of $9.99. I bought three.
That's about it for my money saving.
OTOH I have a new bill this month for $15,000!
That is the going rate I guess for...
I'm looking for a recipe for PB pie that has a regular rolled crust-
no chocolate-
Most recipes I find are a PB/chocolate combo or have a graham cracker crust.
I want one that's pure PB heaven, a mile high, that keeps it's shape once sliced.
Does anyone have any recipes like this they could...
In almost 9 months of pregnancy I haven't gotten sick once. Then I saw the Porkgasm. I about lost it. My mouth is still watering, and not in a good way.
Yeah, we can grow them pretty big, from June to September. If you want huge cabbage, carrots and potatoes this is the place to be. But if you want apples, peaches, corn, things that take a while, it's not so great.
Soon, I'll have a greenhouse and will be able to do more. :)
:hit
Where's the jealous smiley?
I am just sitting here twiddling my thumbs. Nothing goes in into the ground here until June 1st. Sometimes the week before if a person wants to be brave. I do have my seeds ready to start indoors, and I have a new batch of baby chicks to introduce to the flock in...
