    Hummm... I don't think so... just from the way the land above it is shaped. The spit is in a bay, and there are a bunch of rivers that enter the bay. So I always thought that it was just natural deposit from the water currents. However.... I don't remember reading on how it was formed...

    Natural. Think of it like a sand bar. But yes, the big boulder/rocks lined along one part of the edge were put there by man... to keep waves from messing up the road.

    Yes!!! I would get into bed... even on the FLOOR when camping or on a school trip.... AND JUST SLEEP. Boggles the mind when I think back to those days.
