Yep 75%nigie, and he didn't grow great, pathetic carcass really lol. More to try goat meat than anything, I won't be breeding more so probably doesn't even matter if we like it.

I am only keeping Patty and a kid, if she has one. I can't tell yet if she's pregnant. I have a homeschool mom friend who wants pet goats but travels a lot (and her husband is no help) so I'm considering telling her if she wants to build a pen, she can goat-share with me. She only lives 10 minutes away and her kids LOVE animals...

We smoked the hams today, came out ok but DH pulled them out too early. Now I have to make some soup!

DH is working tonight, he'll be home tomorrow to cut up the rest of the pig and goat. Then Monday we'll grind them. Well I don't know what we're doing with the goat but the whole pig is going to sausage.

We got the last of our stuff out of the house we had been staying at today. Now we just have to finish cleaning out the old trailer and unpack more. I did some today but with the kids it's just so hard!

Don't know? Lol I really don't have a clue. How not helpful is that? Maybe 100lbs? I didn't help or watch or anything, I must admit. I stayed inside lol.

Well, pig was bigger than the goat -- right? LOL

Remember that goat is tougher than say, beef. So it takes a longer, slower cooking. Then it's tender. Mine has no "off" taste but, it can handle the heavy taste of onions, BBQ, etc., as complimentary. Let us know.

Yes, the pig is bigger than the goat lol. And we eat a lot of venison so I'm not worried about it

DH had to stay at work today because one of the new guys didn't show up. Boo. I guess we butcher tomorrow.

3-7" forecasted for tomorrow night. I hope we don't lose power, we aren't set up for the generator yet!

I am all done with this snow making work schedule. Thank goodness he is too. Won't be much longer now...

Do you still have a different generator than the big full house one that isn't hooked up yet?

Snow making just doesn't sound like fun... Let' s hope Mother Nature will take care of the snow making and let DH be home overnight!!

We have the other one but it would take some redneck ingenuity to hook it up and DH doesn't want to screw up the wiring in our new house lol.

He won't be home tonight, they're working until tomorrow morning.
