Those berries are sure determined! Growing in that ice and cold....bet it's nice to see the green though. Soon you will find dirt in your garden.

Tossing up random pictures....

Busted up part from the Ford Explorer... Kid is having trouble finding a replacement. Funny, it is easier to find replacement parts for the older Jeep.

And my dad... three years since he died as of last week. This is the memorial I made for him.

And a view picture from a week of so back... cool with the clouds.

Bantams hatched 3 chicks and I think misplaced 2 of them.... found them on the ground just dead...nothing wrong with them.

So 1 broody was put up in the top of my green tractor, just a 3x4, and with the small area she is doing fine.

Just :(

Only ended up with 2 hatched from the incubator eggs... of those 2 we have one of each sex.

Right now I am doing a set of eggs in the incubator, but all Spitz. . ..

I rather think I should do one more set of the bantams.... 1 pullet from this year isn't good enough..... but maybe the single is female... too young yet to tell....

And I have so few of the bantams, and they are all feeling broody... so not many eggs to gather at the moment.

I had a bunch of chicks hatch out last year and had chicks killed by other hens grabbing them and just slinging them and had a rooster do it as well.

Oh good grief!

I used to have a hen that would stalk and kill chicks... we ate her.

Now in the bantam coop (after culling hard for personality for multiple years) they are SO GOOD! I have THREE males and only TWO females right now.... and zero damage on the girls, zero fighting amongst the boys.

But... the broodies this year just didn't corral the chicks.... oddest thing.... they did fine last year... pretty sure the same girls.

One of my hens took a different route and stole a chick from a group a broody had hatched. At first a fight, then she was allowed to adopt it! 😁 She's an amazing mom....as is the broody. Guess it's chicken life!

I have 9 I hatched in bator that I'm going to get into coop mode today. They're almost 3 months and need to get out of the grow out area into daily life. Prepped all yesterday to move today. I'll band them as I move them.
