DS15 starts a college class today. It's equivalent to algebra 2, but very fast paced. I was stressed out about sharing my computer with him and still getting my work done. DH ordered a new computer for me. We had decided which computer to buy using reward points a while back since my computer is at the end of its life. The rewards points were about to expire so DH ordered it. That solves one problem, soon.

DH is finally on-board with restricting DS7's screen time. I guess DH needed to see the tantrums for himself. DS7 is easier to live with when his screen time is restricted. I've heard him say "I'm bored" a couple times, but he finds something to do.

I'm working on DS7's sleep schedule. He has always been a night owl, mostly because DH hasn't been on-board with the interventions necessary (e.g., shutting off power to most of the house at bedtime) to get this kid to sleep. I'm so over it.

happy morning! My new computer arrived earlier than expected and I was able to set it up and transfer important files last night. This makes my life easier today. OTOH, my phone died. I need to figure out a backup and replacement.

I woke DS7 before 8 a.m. - no screaming. Sweet sound of progress! He was so good yesterday I said yes to screen-time in the evening. He picked DH's 1990's gameboy. :D

Beautiful moderate weather in my forecast this week. Highs of mid-70s, lows in the 50s.

I hope I have a productive day and week.

Backup phone sorted out. My SIM card worked in DH's old phone. I lost all my contacts and photos. Now I have to actually answer my phone because I don't know who is calling.

The backup phone buys me time to wait for an older/used iphone. I want an apple watch because the heartrate tracking features are excellent and would help me with managing my health. I haven't gotten one because I didn't have an iphone to view the data with.

DS7 has been reading aloud to himself for about an hour. Love it! I bought more books for him at the library book sale yesterday. We might need to go check out more books again this afternoon. He likes books that are based on TV series he likes.

The wife loves her apple watch. Somewhere I mentioned this...we have android phones and the account was tied to my phone number. Both times we replaced her phone, the watch tethered to my phone, so she was getting copies of my texts (I only texted for work. lol). Took several days to address

My DD7 is also reading books! We got signed up for the summer reading program :)

Ok weather today, 70s and overcast. I wish I didn't have to work a FT job and could just work at home.

We went kayaking today - our first time using the new roof rack to haul them, and my first time kayaking with Boi. (reminder: he is a great dane who weighs 150 pounds)

DH picked a good place to put kayaks in. There was a shallow shoreline and a public dock. I put my canoe in the water next to the dock and stood in the water to steady the canoe. Boi already likes this particular dock - we have trained obedience on it with lots of hot dogs. He went on the dock and stepped into the kayak on cue. :weee

Before we left, I sprayed Boi with fly repellant. He hates it, and proceeded to rub it off in the grass as best he could. Midway through our expedition, he is getting biting flies on his face. He started sulking - and when he sulks he throws his weight around. At home he will lie down as violently as possible by throwing his hips onto the floor in the most obnoxious way possible. Thankfully I was able to prod him into a more centered position. He had his hips off of center most of the ride, but he balanced out his weight by leaning his head on the opposite edge of the kayak. I also learned I can tap his head with a paddle if he doesn't follow his verbal cue to put his head down. That's important for safety, especially when he sees ducks, other dogs, etc.

We did not fall in! The training we did in kayaks on land was worth it! We are all excited to go kayaking again. :D
