Finally got a picture of all three calves together this evening up by the feeding trough.

My imperfect novice observation... They spend the first 3 to 4 days laying in tall grass most of the time. You may see them at the right moment when they get up to nurse. Then they find tall grass and it's back to sleep. Of course we want to see them when we go to look for them, but they hide really well. So I have to have faith that they are ok and just hidden away, sleeping like a baby.

left to right: daisy's born sept 6th, oreo's and bessy's, both born sept 9th. All 3 are boys (bull) calves.

need to bush hog sooner rather than later. I'm glad I did 6 wire on 8" spacing on the barbwire fence. newborn calves are pretty small, they could probably get through standard 5 wire pretty easily.

Jesus is Lord and Christ 🙏❤️🇺🇸

Whatever your eye opener mind defogging let's get this day started drink is it's right next to the coffee pot which is all set to have a busy morning then let's head out to the patio and enjoy the cool crisp morning 55 temp. Suppose to only get in the 70s today so just a taste of Autumn.
If you're near Central Va this weekend stop into "Field Days of the Past" in Amelia Court House. There's a few rides, some exhibits, vendors selling their wares. It starts today and runs until Sunday.
@CrealCritter your new bulls are very lovable!! I am so looking forward to watching them grow and become very nice young men :clap:gig. Romeo is the Daddy to all 3? What does the other ones think of the new babies?

It will be interesting to see what this winter brings.

The folk lore up here is that 6 weeks after the fireweed finishes blooming is the date of the first snowfall.

But this year, the fireweed didn't even START to bloom.

So..... no snow? All the snow? :idunno
The fire weed bloomed a bit early here, like the last of July first of Aug. and is all deadhead now so from say from the 9th 6 weeks puts us at Oct. 21st,, and I have seen it snow in Oregon and Washington in Oct. not mush but it has.
Now for you,, I think up high it has snowed, a bit, but,,,hahah it will be what it will be
