Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Started preparing in earnest for the wife's surgery in just over 3 weeks.

That's great! Everything you get done ahead of time will save you so much work/aggravation after!

That's going to be an awful lot of ice for a long time when your weather gets back to normal.

Yes! It is a mess! We are having to sand daily!

This morning walking to the car, it was a sheet of ice, a layer of water, and a thin sheet of ice that my feet broke through.

Geeze, I've gotta get over this sleeping in thing. I have too much to do to stay in bed until after 8 (pushing 9). Gonna have to suck down this cup of coffee and get busy.

Another hour, tidying up the driveway. Crystal blue skies, cold, cold, cold. Drive may be passable now. Could always get down, coming back up was iffy.
Bird feeders refilled, the birds were not shy

Howling winds last night. Woke to 3* as feel like! . Made executive decision to go out in a short while later. Made homemade batch of pancakes. Ate & enough for tomorrow -- when I also don't expect to start a vehicle, same as today.

Snow is overall 3-4" but drifts of 8-10" around. Winds were a steady 15-18mph, so a lot of fun out there toting hay, walking slowly. NOT. But everyone fed, hay in racks, water tubs open to drink. Back in for another cuppa.

Happy & lucky to have power, no loss last 2 wks of weather crap. Sun is bright & it's decently warm on south side of buildings. Sheds/barns have bedding & are being used!! Goats dislike wetness. Can't blame them!

My goats are scarfing up the hay like they'll never eat again. Slow down guys, there's more where that came from!

Took the wife out for lunch. Did some heavy duty prep shopping for the storm coming this week. Replenished the bird feed supplies and topped the car off with gas

The forecast is currently predicting 3 inches Friday, with some models having up to 8. Calm until then.

And here we are 32!!!!

We did the outdoor blessing of the bay today .... and the beach was covered in ice! Shockingly, it wasn't too slippery, and the blessing went wonderfully!

In the photo bellow, see the little spot out in the water far right? THAT is the guy that volunteered to get the cross this year!

WARMEST EVER blessing of the bay! Nice!
