HAHA, zucchini! I also freeze in 2 cup increments because most recipes call for that. I have a new seal-a-meal and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! You can fit so much more in the freezer. Making Chocolate Zucchini Cake tomorrow so I won't have to freeze quite so much.
I am zone 5 and today just planted lettuce, spinach, beets, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower. Try it! I may even add a simple hoop house made out of pvc and plastic just to cover this area. It's only 8 x 8 so may be able to make it thru part of winter. I have heard that spinach even likes...

Wow, that's great! We live in a college town where there are endless futons out on the curbs right now. I'll have to go get me some! Always looking for fencing to keep my ducks out of everywhere.
We live in eastern Kansas and always come help my dad in central Kansas with his harvest. This is the first year in at least 50 years that there is no wheat for him to cut because he has so much in CRP. Weird for everyone, so vacations for all! Next year its back to normal.

When I think back on my life (I'm almost 48), I wonder if I had goals or dreams when I was 20. I know my dream was to get married (28 years now!), have a couple of great kids (grown and gone) and have a happy life. I can honestly say that has happened. Not without...
