    GOT POTATOES!

I have to work with my husband's genius. lol. I asked about making some temporary raised beds out of hardware cloth. I was going to layer the bunny hay and dirt. He gets to thinking and the next thing I know he is talking about something that is off the ground and has a mini greenhouse on top...

    GOT POTATOES!

So hubby wants to experiment. So going to leave those three bags and see if his thoughts on evaporative cooling work. He also agreed to dig me a trench to plant the rest of the seed potatoes. Trench digging requires our backhoe (old one he fixed up worth its weight in gold) because a 12 layer of...

    GOT POTATOES!

Newbie Potato Question So after watching a bunch of videos, I decided to plant taters in black garbage bags utilizing "bunny hay" (the coastal hay I give my bunnies after they have played, pooped and peed on it) and our regular soil which is fairly heavy on the clay but fine-textured. And no, I...

    Freezing our patooties off!!

When you live "up north," it is hard to imagine some cold or a couple inches of snow shutting a place down. Preparation is key and unfortunately, one can only prepare one's own household.

    Freezing our patooties off!!

Now, I have lived in Wisconsin and I understand that 1 degree isn't unusually cold but hey, it helps if you're PREPARED!!! Been out of internet for 3 days though we are one of the lucky ones not out of electricity. Still our preparedness was tested. I give us a B+ since no warm-blooded...

I didn't either but didn't want to sound, well, I don't know. It so easily could have been me.

    Feed prices

AMEN I have no fear of death. I know He is coming back one day but I don't profess to know when. I am pretty focused on living in the here and now though I know whose I am and where is my true home. I am sad to see this Great Experiment potentially come to its end. Feels premature to me.

    Feed prices

Hubby is very smart and always reminding me of deep time. Like deep time, big money is hard to fathom. Even when we actually think about billions and trillions, we really cannot wrap our brain around it. Very good object lesson.

    Sales Tax Exemption

I told my buyer to be sure to apply for homestead exemption as soon as the sale is completed. I lived in Wisconsin for six years so I am aware of the taxes being much higher with the need for snow removal equipment and all. I think taxes were about a third of our mortgage payment there.

    So much evil

Telegram may have changed. When I used it, I was on a group where anyone could contribute. I "think" it can be used in different ways. Totally agree about Gab. My concern is that "groups" are not near the top of the priority list re a post reposted yesterday. Agree about Mewe - that would be a...

    Sales Tax Exemption

Currently selling a small (cheap) rental property to the guy who has been renting it in Florida. He could not believe the closing costs. I was not surprised because A) I've bought and sold property in more than one state and B) know that not having state income tax is offset by higher something...
