We froze lots of milk in preparation for our last litter of puppes. I used the NAME BRAND Zip-loc (you'll be sorry if you use bargain brand) quart freezer bags. To thaw, I just dropped them into a pot of warm water on veeeeery low on the stove. It tasted just as good as fresh.
This is not an uncommon thing, much more common in Dachsunds than Pugs, but.... More likely than not, he injured himself jumping on/off the couch, something like that. The main thing is rest, rest, rest preferably in a crate. NO JUMPING!!!!!!! NO STAIRS!!!!
Probably the vet did a steroid...
Don't know about your area, but we went to livestock auction last night looking for a calf to put on our 2 1/2 acres and baby bottle calves went for $260.00; calves in the 250-300# range sold for 450.00 and larger steers and some (POSSIBLY) bred heifers sold for 550.00. Cattle are really high...
The main thing with puppy training is Keep It Short! 5 minutes three or four times a day to work on "Here" (or come), "sit" "stay", "down". Keep it fun and the sessions very short. Also, NEVER allow a behavior in your puppy that you won't allow in a full-grown dog. It's cute when little a puppy...
I haven't gotten to make any yet, but I got a basic cheesemaking kit from
Caprine Supply
It has mesophilic and thermophilic cultures, rennet, cheesecloth, 1 cheese form, recipe book - I can't remember what all else. I think it was like $27.00
Hmmm.... well, whoever did the plumbing on this place was NOT a plumber. One of the two bathrooms has a vent that is completely inadequate. I think it was sized for a sink only, then they added a shower and toilet. We are going to have to do a lot of re-plumbing as we can afford it...
I've always liked hanging out to dry, but now that we have our new place we have a new problem. We are on a septic system, and I can hardly do any laundry without filling the septic. We have GOT to get some friends with a backhoe to come dig us some pits for grey water barrels!
Another Okie here. Living on a (very) small hobby farm near Midwest City! Have goats for milk and fun and chickens for eggs and meat, German Shepherds to keep 'em all safe!
