Pretty quiet around here. Curious as to what everyone uses for a finish coat for lathe turned spindles? Lots of time I use stuff called Speed-ez.....from England I think. Bought a bottle some years back as a WW show and still have most left. A little goes a long way.
I think I would use the liquid epoxy they use for sealing bar tops. Mix it (really thick stuff) and pour over the pizza slice on a piece of cardboard. When it hardens, turn it over and pour some on the cardboard as well. Then he could always hang it on the wall, drill a hole through and make...
Every day, put the money you would have spent on smoking into a large jar. Have something you really want to buy as the goal. It will encourage you as you see the $$ amount climbing.

Nice thing about MLCS is that there is always free shipping, even when you buy a $5 router bit. Sometimes the shipping/handling costs stop me from purchasing at other sites when I only need something small.
Lots of people live on boats in 3rd world countries. Problems happen when a typhoon or hurricane hits. No where to hide then.:(
I also wondered about sewage since they usually just dumped it. The ocean has only a certain capacity for pollutants and I believe that we are overloading it in a...

Went to Home Depot thnking about getting a new drill. Looked at Rigid, Milwaukee, Ryobi, Dewalt, Bosch -- nearly all made in China. Exception was Bosch which was made in Malaysia but batteries made in China. Even the Japanese companies have their products made in China. I ended up not buying...
I think I saw part of one once. Everything was supposed to be so high tech and then I see an old guy with reading glasses. I would have thought they would have also had lasik surgery for eye correction?? Started thinking about that and then the whole thing seemed out of whack. Switched to...
No denying they are convenient but after a few years the batteries are done for. When you look at the cost of replacement batteries, you might as well buy a new tool. For that reason, I keep my corded tools and a few heavy duty long extension cords. 99% of the time, I don't require a battery...
I have made planked fish when backpacking and camping in the wild. I usually used a piece of green wood since I think the idea of soaking it is so it won't burn and taint the fish. I would plank the fish in front of the fire and when the wood started to smoke, the fish would be past done.
