We just made some bread and butter pickles yesterday. Since it several days of harvesting to have enough for a batch, they sat in water in the fridge until there was enough. They were all very firm and crisp when it was time to prepare them. In the past we would process them an hour or less...

Very interesting article! As long as people continue to grow organic and buy retail packetsw of seeds etc, there will be a reason for some producers to grow non-GMO seeds. Being a sales rep in the seed business it is my unstanding that it is too expensive to sell GMO seeds in retail packets. ;)

There are some out there that are so disgusting that burning them is doing the planet a favor! I speak from experience.:P

I have really enjoy reading this, there are lots of great ideas out there on this topic. Quite honestly any use you can come up with for those lights is MUCH better than putting them anywhere near a driveway! We live on a deadend road in the boonies and get very little traffic, but the lights...

Thanks for all the great ideas! I found a business in town that really needed it. I love finding uses for things that we would have thrown away in the past.:)

We have two large trash bags stuff full of bubble wrap. Any ideas out there to make good use of it? I would really hate to just throw it away.:)
