I'll bring the gas! I have no shortage of that around here with all these dogs.

No actually, I'll bring the blackberry pie, I just picked a mess of them yesterday.

We miss you! Ditch the mom in law after church and rush back to us for blackberry pie and good friends.

Okay - got it all figured out. She's gone high-tech on us - emailing her blog out to people... Bet she's leaned back with her feet up reading this journal and laughing at all her needy friends.

I think the new buck is adorable! We have been giggling about the antics of the females here too. I think we fit into the category of being too remote, having too unusual a breed for our area and need to keep our little Cody. But last year it worked 100 percent awesome to sell our buck after he did his "job", and last year's buck wasn't a mini nubian like Cody, but I wanted to use a Nigy for their FF. I think that boy of yours will throw some really cute babies for you. Are his eyes brown, I can't tell in the pictures?

* OFG amblin' along, with a shovel in one hand, a hoe in the other, carrying a bottle of bleach, a bag of ag lime, and a duckling under one arm. Suddenly dogs bark and she hears a commotion out by the gate, drops everything but the duckling and runs to see what's doin'........ *

OFG: hey SD! hey KC - whatcha got there.... is that a bacon, bourbon caramel banana split?!?!?

KC, holds bowl of bacon ice cream love up temptingly.....: uh-huuuuhhhhhh...

OFG's eyes bug out of her head: wow! would you look at that!

SD: i know you've been busy but the folks wanna know where ya been.

OFG: oh geez.. you name it and we've been working on it. you saw i got that stanky buckling - right? i think his eyes are brown but i gotta tell you i probably wouldnt have noticed if he had 3 eyes the way things have been going. we're busier than ever. been taking up the gardens, shoveling out the hen house, improving the soil, chasing varmints, teachin' Kai to go after prey - but not the ducklings (*holds up duckling demonstratively*), fixin' the coops, trying to convince the hens to lay but not to set nests - not that we have to worry about that much seein' is how they are all molting. * SD reaches over and pulls a feather out of OFG's ponytail * plus we're searching high and low for hay - which no one is cutting now. sheesh!

and i'm trying to keep up with the harvest. i need to work on maters today, apples later, and pears tomorrow provided it rains. and now that we have the new-to-us dryer i'm actually getting all the wash done. add on top of that we have the neighbors chores this week.

SD: sounds like you've got your hands full.. but dontcha got any love for us anymore?

OFG: sure - got tons of love for you! *hugs SD and KC strategically to get a bite of bacon our of the sundae bowl*... i just gotta work on whats profitable for me right now. i'm feeling the winds of change blowin so we got to have our ducks in a row. and i got less daylight now to get more more done. TBM has a different schedule and thats not helping matters either.

* in the background a horrible noise erupts from the barnyard *

KC: whats THAT!?!?

OFG: i dunno... i should go and check. this full moon coming on is making everyone just plain nuts. plus all them gals are showin' off for that buck... its a free for all out there... *turns head to barnyard which sounds like a kindergarten full of flying monkeys*...say, KC, that sundae isnt getting any younger.. can i have it? and go ahead and help yourself to some pears - i got a billion of them and i'll never get them all canned.

* OFG runs off in the direction of the mayhem, turns and waves and yells, "bye! thanks for the sundae! dont forget to close the gates! *

I knew if I mentioned bacon, she'd come running. Well, I'd best be off to see if I can make me another one. Coming SD? Oh, get that gate, would ya?
