well its been a long, expensive but good past couple of days...

on friday my computer whent the way of the dodo...the screen was literaly hanging on by a thread and on friday afternoon, my makeshift wedge shifted slightly, the screen slipped and the wire from the computer to the screen (one of 4 holding the screen to the body) snapped...it was so badly frayed that dad says theres no way we could fix it...
today i splurged and got myself a new laptop. i justified the spending by 1 putting it on my 12 months no interest card and 2 telling myself i need it. given the telephone situation my laptop wil be acting as primary communications device for anyone i wish to talk to that doesnt have ATT services.
SKYPE will be my new "home phone" for the most part.

i also ordered my new cellphone. despite my best efforts T-mobile is simply not embraced in the south lol, or at least not in the area im in and i need to drive about 25 mins form my new house before tmobile signal returns...
being my cellphone will be my other primary phone, thats not doable.
So i took advantage of my dads discount through his company, and my cellphone bill will be about the same as my membership to the Y has been costing me...
I ordered their basic nationwide plan, which should give me plenty of mins for general as needed for house calls, and it has free ATT to ATT. i splurged on next day shipping so it will be here tomorrow, and i "splurged" on the phone itself ordering an entry level data capable...not that i will be using or ordering a data plan (i opted out on text and picture mesaging) but it was one of the few phones they had that was free with a new 2 yr contract that did not require a data plan at all...and its very similar to the blackberry im currnelty using now so i will have a detailed calander and can set "time to eat" alarms and keep track of my apointments easier...

had my frineds wedding yesterday...was a very nice service, none denominational mildly pagan which was nice...got to see some people i havent and dont get to see in a very long time. everyone was very curious about my move...and only 2 people threw mild hissy fits by the end of the afternoon. the Bride, and one of her bridesmaids, both were teary telling me i cant go...but they are also the ones who only call me back if they need something...
or always make excuses at to why they cant come see me...cause im "too far away" but aparently i own a tardis because instad i should go see them...ect. so while i apreciate the sentiment...its like...where were you a year ago.
the people who acted all upset were the ones who claimed this is so out of the blue...the others were like "umm...youe been talking about this for about 3 years now..." lol...kinda shows who realy listens when i speak.

after the wedding some other frineds hosted the after party, good night but again, the 2 teary eyed "best friends" who insist i cant go cause they dont know what to do without me...were also the ones that made no attempt to spend any time with me...they know im leaving on tuesday and that this was probably their last chance to realy hang out...but neither made the effort.
instead i spent the night with folks i dont get to see often, chatting having fun and feeling very blessed to have some real people in my life...people who said they dont ant to see me leave but want to see my happy.
all in all it was a very good night...eye opening...and actually probably the best way it could go.
i didnt come away feeling sad about leaving everyone behind...i didnt feel sad i wouldnt see them for a while...instead i felt good about starting a new chapter, and not dealing with the games anymore.

tomorrow ive got a drs apointment for the last of my 3 B12 shots, then another friend is supposed to be comming over for the afternoon...still have to confirm shes comming.
i have to call the truck company tomorrow if i dont hear from them before my apt to see what the pick up window is for tuesday.
and tomorrow brings about, the dismantling of the cabinates that are comming with (i forgot im taking the genny so i figure flat pack the cabinates to make space for the generator...
taking the TV down from the wall
and gathering the last minute stuff/packing the case.
tomorrow (once ive got the pick up window) also includes the finalization of the route, and hotel room booking
i also need to go pick up a bottle of rescue remedy.
Oh and i need to move the tank stand and 55 gal tank to the front of the house ready for pick up...
and we need to unearth and semi dismantle the futon. (its currently burried in my sisters room)

tuesday morning then will be a case of move jack jack into the crate. rescue remedy the cats and crate them (or ill never find tempi once the door opens), pack my car, get the truck sorted and were off.
if the truck is due late i might decide to head out weds, but id rather get out of here asap and just get there...
however ill also play that by the "probable delivery date" of the moving truck. dont want to be sat in the house for a week with no furniture...more importantly though, dont want to be sat around with jack jack locked in a relitivly small dog crate for too long.

ill tel you something though.
this past few weeks have gone by incredibly quickly.

new chapter of my life starts soon and im rely nervous and excited.

found out the moving truck is comming tomorrow afternoon, so ill be leaving weds morning.
freezer arrived this morning at 7:30 am...you know...cause thats beteen the hours of 8:30 and 10:30 am right?! good job they called when they were about 5 mins away or wed have all been still asleep, as it was they did call so i got to greet them in my pjs and dresing gown thats now about 5 sizes too big...they then tried to tell me they had pick up for the other freezer on their form...i told the if they tried 1: talk about a hernia, its currently full of food...and i mean FULL...2: if they dont want to keep thier hands there more than welcome to try ad get past me...its MINE...i was with mum when she ordered, nowher eon the list was "take the old one".
but at least thats done...
its been on all day so were gonna transfere the food over soon and leave the lid open on the other so it thaws out even quicker (its been unplugged since this morning)

my new cellphone also arrived today, i realy like it (and im not a phone type person) it seems simple to use, its nice and lightweight and relivly small (especially compared to the blackberry) but doesnt feel flimsy to me so yay there.

spent today with one of the few people i do consider a good frined, we dont get to see eachother often as she lives over an hour away and works crazy hours, but when we do hang out its always good times. its sad to say goodbye to her, but we'll skype date! :p

today was alos my B12 shot #3, #1 was nothing, #2 stung a little, #3 however, dead achey arm for like 4 hours!

also got my oil changed and a general maint check...guy sees no reason why my car wouldnt get me to TN so yay! and new oil is always good!

and ruby got a bath because she decided the kitty litter box makes a good snack bar...needless to say EWW...she was covered because she also rubs her face in there...so emergency bath for her. gonna give jasper a bath tomorrow morning simply because.

i still have to flat pack the cabinates, take the tv down and wrap that...though im thinking of taking it in the car with me because the company want it boxed and i dont knwo where the box whent...so its going to be major bublewrapped and i figure it can fit in the trunk of my car.
i also need to scrub out the litter box...gonna replace that with the basic one with no lid for tonight that ones comming in the car with us for potty breaks. and then the hooded one will be dry for the truck tomorrow.
and need to take down the cat tower.
tonight i also want to print out the route im planning on taking, and a list of pet friendly hotels and motels along the way...super 8 seems to be the best bet right now for pet friendly.

tomorrow morning ill make up the crate for jack jack and flat pack his cage...
and pack my case and the "in the car" boxes, and put baggies together with food for everyone for the trip and beyond.

i need to get to costco and walmart tomorrow too and clean out my car completly. need to get that all set up for the trip.
im also going to pack a food for the trip bag with various none perishables so i dont have to buy food at every stop for me.
ive got 1 load of last min laundry to do too.
oh and rescue remedy too! i may pick up a tiny bottle of childrens benadryl for the cats as an emergency sedative, but the rescue remidy should help. think im going to dose jack jack too...just to keep the volume down.

so much to do...so little desire to get off my butt right now LOL!

ill be heading out weds morning, should be at the house by friday evening and hopefully they can deliver over the weekend.

Good luck and safe travels. I have one more move left in my life (from our rental house to our cabin) and now I'm not so excited anymore to get the move over with. :D

On our major move from Florida to Ohio with our dog, we got into Cincinnati so late that we stopped at the first hotel we saw and snuck our dog in. Unfortunately, if was December and she was shedding like crazy (why Siberian Husky's shed during fall/winter I still don't know) and she left a nice white coat on the red carpet. We snuck out the next morning and hauled butt.

You are a brave girl to move out of state all on your own and live your dream.

belive me, a part of me is terrified about it...i dont think its bravery as much as shear stubborness and the simple fact that CT only exists to drain every penny from your pocket.
lol.

the move itself...well packing sucks, i do hate that part and if it wasnt for the fact that i cant afford to replace everything, id simply get rid of it all and buy new on the other end, i HATE packing things up...but i am quite good at it as my ex pointed out (moved him from his ex's house to an apartment, from there to another apartent from there to a house then moved myself out lol...
id much rather only have what would fit in a gypsy wagon...but thats not how life works.
im realy stressed about the moving truck aspect...i wish id taped out a little 10 x 30 box in the garage so i know everything is going to fit in that 300cuft...the truck aspect is so expensive its realy the only part im stressing about.

ive flat packed the 3 cabinates that are comming with me, so they now take up alot less space. im going to flat pack the parrot cage too because thats a large item. which means the only bulky stuff i have is the chair and ottoman set, the chest freezer, the genny, the futon, the futon matress, my matress and the washer and dryer...everything else is flat packed and boxed up.

ill be honest i did think about "sneaking" and i think i will still do it somewhat to help myself out. the dogs are gonna ride in their car seat, strapped in of course. jack jack will go in rubies crate, the cats in jaspers and the linnies are in a small-ish cage.
i figure ill tell them about the macaw and the dogs, i can probbaly get away with hiding the cats because they will be crated (and the macaw can meow realy well anyway) and could probbaly sneak the linnies too.
but i definatly have too many to sneak them all in lol. i cant imagine trying to sneak something as large as a husky lol!

i actually had one person tell me im stupid for taking my pets itll just add more stress than nessicary...nice to know what some people think of having animals huh?!
and anothe rperson is now telling everyone they can that im not actually moving, its just a big lie...LOL.
i cant imagine why anyone would lie about moving 1100 miles.
*shrug*

in all the fear i have though...the excitement...the plans...the ideas..those are whats keeping the momentum going!

Don't stress about your stuff fitting into the truck. Will you have moving guys to pack it for you? If so, they are amazing at their jobs. Our moving guys would measure a space in the truck, then go find something to fit that space. We didn't have a single broken item, it was packed so tight.

We moved ourselves coming back to Florida, and had to give away a lot of stuff that we couldn't fit into the same size truck.

lol, yup, the guys are doing it all for me.

i got a call this morning, they hit a snag, supposed to get here this evening, but itll be early tomorrow instead, and hes going to give me a discount for the inconvenience. lol.
sooo not stressing this...especially when he mentioned discount lol. i like discounts!

it also gives me today to finnish everything up with a little less of a rushed feel.
i should still be able to leave tomorrow without a problem too as long as there here early enough :D

I've never had moving guys help. That must be a very different moving experience!! I like the Tetris aspect of moving.

well moving truck called this morning...will be here between 9 and 10 am...
then 20 mins later...another call...someone rearended the moving truck...nad enough that the back end on the truck was hanging.

now they are waiting on a replacment truck, so now were back to this afternoon or even tomorrow before i can get my butt in gear.
this is frustrating.
not their fault as such and the guy is saying hell work something out to make it up to me (and the 3 other customers on this run)
but seriously now...
ive got a cat whos having a hissy fit because i wont let her outside...
ive got a macaw in a dog crate who, while right now iw being very very good...i doubt itll stay that way for long.

im refusing to stress however...
so this morning got things finnished up.
packed my clothes
made a list of pet frinedly motels along the way
charged my zune so ill have music on the way down thats not advertisment filled...
charging my blutooth as a just in case.
i even had time to vacume around where jacks cage used to be.

taking 5 mins, and gonna go have breakfast, then ill come back down, collect the left over animal toys, vacume and just generally hang around.
will probably have my dad help me do the birds nails and wings in a lil while too...might as well get them done while i have an extra set of hands around.

im realy hoping the moving guys get here this afternoon, at least i can then leave first thing in the morning and am not hanging around all day tomorrow too...
this is definatly the worst part i think...being ready and having to just wait around. i wanted to be on the road today.

edit to add...
now i have 3 angry birds!
dad helped and all the nails and jacks wings are done. i like having him flighted, but i think for the trip down there, better to limit his flight...he can still fly...just not far or too high.
