thanks :D
i know itll get better...its just somedays are harder than others in terms of beliving it.

todays been pretty slow, should be getting another 11 bales of hay before the end of the month to stock up (may keep my eyes open for even more in october, but i think 1 bales should do me ok, its not like we get 6 months of frozen ground lol and the privet stays green all year here meaning at worse i cut some down each day for them...
but it will be nice to have some on hand as a "just in case".

otherwise nothign going on.
decided that for my 2 little chicken coops in house #1 i want faverolles which are ok layers (but great winter layers) and make a nice table bird...
in house #2 will hopefully be cream legbars :) ust a little flock, i love em, spent some time with them in the uk and now there available here (all be it currently super expensive) id kinda like to get in on the ground level.
just not sure i want to go ith greenfire lines but ive NO idea how to import eggs/chicks from the UK at this point...
the uk has sooo many more cool color choices than the US...im in love with crele leghorns but have only seen them in the uk and australia...lol.

but yeah...thats about all i got. its almost 4pm...going to figure out hwo i want to cook this pack of stew beef in order to make it "pie ready" then its going in a pie crust with peas carrots and baby taters...
and i need to do Dusties nails at some point *ouch* lol.

I looked that up after you posted about it, and you're right! I'd love to be able to grow some myself.

that glass gem is sooo pretty...
not yet sure if ill have a space for corn in the spring lol, but we'll see...i do like corn...alot! lol.

todays been both boring and crazy all at the same time...had to go into town, dropped off the neighbor at his aunts before hand picked him up on the way home, their car is still not fixed despite them putting multiple tires on it...go figure that without adressing the CTUAL problem there continuelaly haveing the same issue?! whod have thunk it?!
*grr*
but the main reason i whent into town (other than to buy milk) was to stop at the co-op and pick up the shots for the pups....guess what...missed em by less than 5 minutes...they closed at 12, i got there at 12:04 thanks to every traffic light hitting me! GRRR!
so that means ive got to head back up there again next week...before wednesday.
*DOH!*

got home, put the base coat on some pre-fab wooden birdhouses...still have some more gourds to scrub and then i can start drilling them and prep for cleaning them out (need a melon baller or scraper and a good dust mask before i can tackle the insides though) hoping i can save the seeds for planting in the spring...

Hoping to get to the fleamarket at least twice in october with the birdhouses...we'll see.

i feel exhausted and ive barely lifted a finger...UGH.

ive decided to try and sell 2 of the 6 buns, ive got silver and strawberry, i cant seem to get ANY buns to breed right now (heat related i think as the boys just arnt interested) and yet suprise they still have to eat. since i own their momma and their daddy i think ill try and sell them, cut back to 4 buns for the winter 3 does 1 buck, and then mabe in the spring start looking for a pair of unrelated rex buns. im also thinking in the spring once i get the land clear and the old shed torn down id like to move the buns out of the back yard and set them up in a nice sized colony under the shade of the big oak thats there. ill have to line the ground so they cant dig under the oak (or out) and id use the materials currently invested in the hutches to build a seperate pen for the bucks and a seperate pen for weanling/grow out. and to build some "hidey houses" for the girls too for kindling ect.

its not that they realy eat alot, selling 2 woudlnt realy save me that much in feed, BUT, it would be easier to handle for the winter and since there related to bluebell and bigwig, its not realy worth it.

i had a dream last night about my swimming pool (which i wont have unless i wint he lottery...its not a traditioanl swimming pool its a "natural pool" in the center theres a deep swimming area 5-6ft deep, along the font edge theres a shallow zone about 2ft deep (perfect for sitting with a nice cold drnk) and around all the edges theres a shallow ledge 6-18" deep where its all planted with reeds and lillies... so peacefull...
then today a frined on facbook posts a link to natural swimming pools LOL!

Wonder how much it would cost to have someone come in and dig it out for me...and how deep id have to go before i hit ground water LOL! ill add it to my "when im not poor" list. it was so beutufil though...the swimming area was only about 12ft long by 10ft wide then the planting zone about 2ft all around it but it fels to peacefull!

Oh well, its 6:30, its starting to get dark and i need to go put everyone to bed.
laters.

lol, i think this would be a job for a dozer, i dont know if shovels would go through the clay LOL! would take forever!
but this is pretty much the system id like to acomlish
http://www.motherearthnews.com/Do-It-Yourself/2002-08-01/Natural-Swimming-Pool.aspx

the idea being the outer edges of the pond are planted with naturel wetland plants they comete wiht the algea for nutrients keeping the water clean and filtering alot of the yuck out.

I WOULD however like a waterfall nothing crazy big, just enough for the sound effect :D

so i think thats on the winter/spring of 2013/2014 plan...

right now the plan is:
Fall 2012: get the orchard started and work on raised beds for the veggie patch
Winter 2012: work on the veggie patch and survive quietly
Spring 2013: finnihs the veggie patch and get the land CLEARED (not sure where that moneys comming from yet but i need to get it done...anyone need a spare kidney.i dont need 2...lol) and get some chickens started.
Summer 2013: build the rabbit colony and work on layout of everything else because the land will be clear
Fall 2013 start orking on layout of pastures and getting thigns in place
Winter of 2013: mabe buid my pool LOL!

somewhere in that list i plan to strike oil or win the lottery...:p
