Snapshot--Moving on (A couple of photos added)

I moved this from another thread and now I will add a little to it.

Hi again! Haven't been on here since May or June and now we get a signal sitting outside so I will try to get on once a week or so. I've been checking mail every couple of weeks and maybe facebook but it's hot out here! We are in our mobile home out in the country near bils ranch and it is beautiful! The dogs are fine and Buddy hasn't had a seizure for almost 3 months now. I think the Sam -E is healing his liver. Hoping to get a garden are disced up soon. I have been putting whey from the dairy on the area for a few weeks now. No chickens or goats yet. Eventually. We have some furniture. It is still easy to clean house since it is not overcrowded yet. AT&T is laying fiber optic cable right in front of our house but I can't get an answer as to when they will hook it up. We go into town about every week and a half and to Walmart about once a month. We made our wooden fence dog proof and I will have photos when I have a better connection. We built our porch railing, making one section a gate so we can open it to bring in furniture easier. DH has built some furniture. Next is a bookcase I think.

The dairy is going well and I am still learning. Haven't made too many costly mistakes--lol.

As you can see by looking at the fence we have made it both schnauzer and elephant proof!

More later like October when it cools off. Just kidding!

Got a small tv stand from a thrift shop this week. That's it for furniture (aside from what we have aready gotten). Made red beans and rice from dried beans in the crockpot and a carrot pineapple jello type salad. Yesterday I made greek style yogurt from a gallon of whole milk and it turned out great! Not much going on this week, just still hot. I got a deni ice cream maker from a flea market. Have the container freezing now to make something this evening. It's hot and I'm going inside now. I'll check you guy's journals when I am home on Wed. Have a great week!!!!!!!!!!

Great photos! I'm so glad to hear that you're getting settled in and enjoying life.

Made it through Isaac!!!!! We are good. Lost power for a day or so but had water in the bath tub and all my oil lamps. Bils ranch is another story! Way underwater, some fences down from debris and a couple from trees down on them. Couldn't even get up the driveway for a couple of days to his place. All cows are fine and still in their smaller fields til fences are fixed. Job security!

We had no damage at our home but had 14 inches of rain. The rv park where we were living was flooded worse than anytime we were there! Some of the folks had raised their trailers another 6 inches and thought they were safe. Two couples lost everything, one had insurance. The water was chest deep inside the trailers!

DH is going to till up the garden again and I will see if I can get a little bit planted late. Glad I did not plant before Isaac! I'll be getting a smartphone soon and hope it will let me on the internet better than now. I am off work for two weeks because of the storm and the lack of sales with the storm at the dairy. I am so glad everyone seems in good shape.

Buddy had two seizures yesterday evening an hour after putting his advantix on. No more of that for any of them! Vet says it was a coincidence. Right!

I am sorry it took me so long to get on here. Hopefully the smartphone will help, maybe next week.

SO glad!!! Don't know where we could have taken the trailer and kept the water out!

Great to read your update and know that you are ok and made it through the storm.

Hopefully that is all for your area this year, from the news coverage it looks like there will be so much cleanup again

So glad to hear that you came through Isaac safely! I was thinking of you and was sure that you were glad not to be living in the RV park at the time!
