Since we have a thread for bible study, I thought it would be ok to have a pagan circle.

We are after all getting close to one of our high holy days.

I am curious to know what some of you do for Samhain.

Years ago I used to have quite the elaborate ceremonies. Now I usually build a small alter on the fireplace mantle, light a purple candle, an honor my grandparents and those who went before me. Somtimes I go outside to my sacred circle and call the 4 quarters, and offer libations and salute he moon.

I rarely get together with other pagans anymore. Mostly I am just too busy with being self sufficient, since I have to be.

As a Christian, I think it's great you started this post.
I know alot of our holidays were based on pagan holidays.

Is Samhain observed on a particular date? On the Sunday closest to Nov 1 we observe All Saints and remember our loved ones who passed. I wonder if there was once a connection. I don't know enough about the roots of my own religion to have the answer.

Thank you for starting this thread! I didn't know if we'd get stoned or what.... :D

I'm not Wiccan, but still Pagan. For those who don't understand the difference, you could compare it to Baptist and Methodist. Still Christian, but a little different, right?

I'm a solitaire, so I usually light candles, give thanks, honor those who passed before me and are guiding me now...when I listen. I used to have an area with representations on our other house. I LOVED to meditate and listen, such visions, emotions, learning. I haven't done one in this house (still don't have a space to call my own), but the wind has been calling me lately...

I am a solitary witch also. I rather consider myself neo-pagan. I am kind of non specific. Just follow my gut, most of the time.

Ugh, need to start getting better about this stuff! Hub and I agreed to raise the kids Jewish (he's Mormon and I simply, personally, don't agree with it.) but I'm rethinking it, I'd rather they start out with our beliefs (yeah, he's a mormon-pagan??) because it's easier not to confuse. Which means I need to get into better practice :p
