Is it just about turkey, hunting season, sports or Christmas shopping? Or is Thanksgiving still about giving thanks?

Does your family do any rituals, besides having dinner, to celebrate or to define what you are thankful for?

No rituals since we started traveling. That's the downside. However, I am definitely thankful for my salvation, my family, my tiny home and my pups! Also thankful that God knows our needs and always takes care of the details!

What a great thread. You know.....every day, as I walk up the drive from the mailbox...as I gaze around our humble homestead, I than God for allowing us to be the care takers of this little piece of land, and for all the help he gives us in doing so. However, every Thanksgiving day...before we all eat, everyone says something they are thankful for. It is so cute, when the little ones get tongue tied and gaze around the room for an idea, then say the first thing they see, Pie, cake, turkey....LOL ZI personally am thankful for every day I am here, and for being able to help anyone...animal or human...every day.

We go to mass on Thanksgiving morning. It really sets a tone for the whole day. There is so much to be thankful for!

I am thankful for everything I have. And I don't mean the material things like jewelry, cars, or the iPhone I'm posting with right now. I am not just thankful for my family, but thankful that they accept me for who I am. And thankful that the ones who don't, keep their feelings to themselves. ;) I'm thankful that I found a guy who understands me so well, and for the son we gave each other. I'm thankful my parents are still alive, and that me, my son, and my husband are in good health. I'm thankful for the old leaky roof over our head. I am thankful that I am able to look past peoples faults and not get so stressed out over the holidays!
