The city of Tucson has finally decided to become more Urban Agriculture friendly! They changed the zoning for chickens and small animals here in the city limits!!
I had a beautiful chicken coop I built in 2008. In 2014 the city made me take it down or face a $1000.00 a day fine!! Links to my old chicken coop on BYC.

I have now started rebuilding my chicken coop and run area.
I was able to put the coop in the same place as before, since the zoning went from 50ft to 20ft from the nearest neighbor's house.
Jan. 18, 2016 Started to get the cement blocks back in place as the foundation for the coop.
Jan. 20, 2016. Reinstalled the gate, and got a couple of the walls of the coop back up.
Jan. 21, 2016 Put on the third side of the coop and the roof supports.
Jan. 29, 2016 We had some rain, so I had to wait a few days to start working again. I got the roof on the coop, and the cover for the entrance to the run back up. Installed the heat lamp, and put up the hardware cloth and screening on the upper portion of the coop.
And got the last side up, it wasn't so easy to do this side with the egg box!
Feb. 8, 2016 Next came the new wrought iron fencing on an
expanded run area.
Now the run will be much bigger. The Wrought iron fencing was FREE!
From a friend of mine that was moving out of state! Such a deal!!! Painting it from black to white took a primer coat, then FOUR coats of white paint!

Now all I have to do is cover the fencing with hardware cloth, and chicken wire and put a top on it so the owl and hawks don't come for a free lunch!
We have an owl living in our big pine trees in the backyard. The owl likes to sit on a branch just above the new chicken run!
Since I am going to be gone for a few weeks this summer, I decided to wait until I am back home to get new chickens.
When I get the fence and run covered I will make a new post.
