Well, I was soooo good and listed mine on CL late last night.

Baked an awesome ham last week, ate some and then made it into several pounds of BBQ, packaged and in freezer. Still have a LOT in there, so probably won't butcher any this year. No need to feed them, so selling them.

FEM, glad you feel better. Now DO NOT overdo and have a set back. Easy for a few more days. Rest this week, then go for it.

Hey, if that guy does a foot massage THAT well, wonder what a back rub would be like? :hide yeah, bet that would be a real treat...:p...just sayin :clapI ain't dead yet!

I can NOT allow myself to even think about that... I'd never get through another PT session with a straight face, lol! But dang... I'm not dead yet either!

I didn't mention that as soon as he had my foot warmed up, relaxed and loose - he worked the absolute HECK outta that foot. But, it was good while it lasted.

Congrats on listing the piglets - let us know how it goes.

While we're on the subject of massages... I had the same therapist for a shoulder issue a while back. His neck/shoulder massage is what prompted me to "demand" the same therapist when I knew I was going back for the foot therapy! No dummy here, lol!

Because I was SOOOOOOOOOO busy at work today I decided to figure out how much longer I have to sit at this desk and collect a paycheck before I can hang it up. Just a mere 1,024 days and I can be OUTTA HERE! Probably not an exact estimation, but pretty darn close. Sometimes finishing out a month or a quarter can give you a little bit more money on the retirement paycheck - but at least it's a real close approximation! WHOOP!

(but, my boss has already hinted that if I want - I can stay and work part-time. Twenty hours a week and full-benefits isn't a half bad gig. :hu

1023 now lol!
I like the sound of that! I need to actually go to HR and have a chat with them to see what is the most optimal time for me to leave. The 1023 days is counted from now until the first day I qualify for retirement. There actually can be a big difference if you stay to the end of a quarter or a fiscal year or any other such variances.

Now I need to go see how many days I need to be "sick" to use up my time before retirement. They'll buy out your vacation, but not sick time. I think I've got about 6 weeks of sick time now and we earn a day a month...but if I keep going the way I'm going I'll end up using them legitimately... ugh.

Little piggies are looking good! Talked to my neighbor yesterday about butchering the boars. He's going out of town this weekend so we're keeping fingers crossed for the following weekend. Somehow I'm thinking that might be Superbowl weekend - but I don't care! I'd rather get a pig or two off of the feed bill than watch a game! I've offered him meat or money or a combo of the two. He mentioned he'd like meat - so if that's the case I'm gonna push for butchering both of the boars. Seems like a good idea to me!

Happy Wednesday, ya'll!

If I did 2 AGAIN at one time, I'd sure want someone to take 1/2 of one or more. o_O It was a lot to cut, wrap....for one person, at least. You have help there, so should be good. Plan a couple sick days the first of that week :idunno to rest.

The meat is good. Be ready to render fat. Mine was easy as the leaf fat was soft enough to work with nicely. Butchering is a LOT of work -- as you already know. Can't wait to see how this goes for you.

Soooo....only 3 yrs to retire? Good deal. I still work PT because I am just not ready to stay home totally. But, it's work I can pretty much set my own days/hrs to work. Mandatory for me to have that flex. Keeps the feed bills out of my retirement income. IF I raised a little more animal feed & downsized some of the animals I could just quit all other work. Not ready for that yet but, considering it within a few more years. It's nice to plan on it happening -- something to look forward to....
