Hello folks glad to be here. My husband and I have bought a small 5 acre place in MISS. He has not retired yet but I'm living here full time. Our other home is in La just under 2 hrs away so he's back and forth. We have just started adding animals. I have 26 chicks in my utility room they're almost ready for outdoors as it is very warm here. Our future projects include rabbits and goats. Then hopefully a pig and a half. We have a garden planned and have fruit trees and we planted new fruit trees this winter. We are Christians and enjoy family life. I also love to fish. Look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi! Welcome! Adding the first animals is such an exciting time! I love watching baby animals!

I'm from Wisconsin, and we're warming up to 32 degrees this time of year! We'll plant our garden on Mother's Day and we usually have to replant due to frosts.

We have small flock of sheep, some pet goats, chickens. I want to have dairy goats, but that's a slow-going project. We have a big garden each year and are patiently waiting for your fruit trees to produce. We inherited blueberry patch when we moved here. They're really hard to keep up with. There are bushes I haven't gotten to pruning yet (in 4 years!)

Hi, I'm from Arkansas. I used to live in New Llano, Louisiana. It reminded me of Arkansas, except you could run down to the coast in a couple of hours to shrimp or catch crab, lol.

I have a few pullets just beginning to lay. A few kids (the 2-legged variety) and 3 dogs, not LGD'S but a chihuahua and a couple of little mutts my son rescued.

Welcome from Ireland :frow Great to have you here! You are planning a very nice little homestead there from the sounds of things. And 5 acres is a good size space to play on.

What breed(s) chickens did you get?
