Now that the pond is up, we are moving to another project...the garden room as I call it. It is a 10 x 20 bump out between the end of the chicken run and the slope down to the cesspool. For the past two years this space just "existed" with a small raised garden. We removed the raised garden and put a border around three sides. I want to raise the ground level since it slopes down to the field. Then I am going to erect some kind of archway with barberry bushes on either side of the arch to create a "room". We plan to plant flowers in there, put the concrete birdbath back, and relocate a small concrete bench for sitting...at least that's the plan at this point...but, it could change.

This is how it looked last summer.

This is what we are doing now.

It's awesome, but I have a question for you. When do you sleep? LOL ;) You've always got a major project going and they aren't 'little' projects. I can't wait to see the finished product here.

Despite all the rain today, we were able to re-locate some barberry bushes to the Garden Room border. They will need some time to grow.

Having problems with my old Kodak EasyShare C143 camera. It is not worth getting fixed. Took me forever to try and get these pics. It keeps going "blank".

Today, we moved more soil into the Garden Room and planted two arches of Seedum. I laid those blocks "temporarily" in the front on the right side, But I think I am going to level them with screenings and place them "semi-permanently" until the barberry bushes grow a bit more. I have more to put on the left side.

Not part of the Garden Room, but I also got the 4 x 4 frame placed under the deck and filled it with screenings. I plan to put lattice work in front and store the lawn mowers and weed whacker there during the summer, and the snow blower there during the winter.

Wow. Things are coming along beautifully. I may stop by to check it out in person. Nothing has changed over here except we had the old oak tree topped so it looks really horrible round here. it will be good in few weeks... lol

Yesterday....Put down the block border in front

Today...Rushed to get 15 wheelbarrows of top soil down before the rain hits. Hoping the rain today/tomorrow will settle the top soil. Then, I'll tamp and add a bit more. After that, I can start laying the slates for the bench, sun dial and bird bath.
