Lol, I'll bet. We pretty much offer classes alllll the time now. Even though there are a couple down times - there's usually a mini-mester or something going on somewhere on campus! We have a new president and things are changing... sigh...

Bleh. I like the term mini-mester though.

Hey speaking of minis, do you drive your mini horses or anything or are they pets? I want some someday (DH thinks I'm nuts). But only if I can drive them, haha

I took a mini-mester once over Christmas break. It was from 8a - 1p for maybe 13 days.... got an entire class done. It was kinda awesome, lol!

I have from time to time (mostly back when I first got 'em) actually made the mini's 'work' for a living. I'd saddle 'em up and lunge em and maybe even have them carry a bag of feed for me. More of a lead line thing than actually driving them. However, I have at one time or another done ground driving with them just because... They don't actually have anything to pull during ground driving but it sure helps get them to listen to you and learn to give to pressure and pay attention to what 'mama' wants lol! Nowadays I rarely have time to do much with them. But, if I can get my goat numbers down I'd like to pick it back up.

Years ago I had a mini donkey. He was a jack when I got him, but that didn't last long. This was back in the day when I was a stay at home mom. I worked that bugger almost every day. I'd rake out the barn and the pens and pile all the crap (literally) on a tarp which was attached to a nylon harness type contraption and I'd haul it out to the pasture where I had a giant compost pile. Donkey was smart - after a couple times I didn't even have to tell him where to go. He'd walk out there on his own when I told him to 'giddup' and wait for me to get there and unload - then he'd drag that tarp back for another load. Darn shame he was so stinkin' mean when he wasn't workin', lol.

Your husband might get to be pretty good to have at home. He could develop into a good milkman LOL. He might get to be so good around the house that you don't even want him to go back to work!

I would absolutely be ok with having a househusband, lol! Not sure it's his 'thing' though. He's not good at staying at home...easily bored and all that... But, depending on how the surgery goes - who knows? One day he says he'd be ok never going back to work and the next day he's applying for other jobs. He's accustomed to being in charge... he's not really happy with no one to boss around, lol! (cuz he knows he can't 'boss' me!)

Lol! And the animals probably don't listen either!

That's really cool about the donkey, too bad he was so mean! I like the idea of driving minis. You'll have to share if you get working them again!

We were supposed to get a bunch of rain and I'm glad to say that it hasn't happened .... yet at least. I know there's lot of the country who is catching heck from it though - hope everyone stays safe. We may still get some later tonight or early tomorrow.

Because I was expecting rain I spent most of the morning weeding the garden. Got a whole bunch done.

Disudded the kids that were born a couple weeks ago. And, I'm thinking we'll have babies pretty soon. Maybe a day or so - maybe tonight - who knows?! Lucy's udder has been growing since yesterday...but ligs are still there. She's a FF so their ligs can disappear in 15 minutes or so, lol. FF's are always a gamble.

DH replaced a fence post that had broken off at ground level. So nice to have him helping! He has to be careful with a lot of physical exertion. Too much/hard exercise raises his blood sugar - but then later he'll drop like a rock. I've been making him come inside and check every other hour or so. He was pretty high, so I had him stop for the evening. Going to have to watch him pretty closely for awhile so he doesn't crash.

I'm about to go milk for the evening - then I've gotta shower and wash off the disbudding stink - ugh! I'd sure love to head to bed about 8pm, but I know I need to watch that doe for awhile. Hopefully, she'll wait awhile.

Woohoo! DH finished fixing a gate that has been a bugger to deal with for awhile. A corner post had broken off and only the cattle panels were holding it up. The goats knew it took two hands to open or close so that's where they would attack me anytime I had a bucket in my hands - stoopid goats.

Been fighting a sore throat/ear ache since mid-week. Tried not to give in, but it finally got me last night and this morning. Broke down and took meds so I spent most of the day dozing on the couch....except for when I was chasing chickens outta the garden, chasing big pigs outta the little pigs pen, milking, and delivering a baby!

Lucy kidded this afternoon. One BIG baby boy - of course a boy....grrrr.

Meds still had me loopy at milking time so when it was time to clean the milker I totally missed taking off the milk collecting jar and putting the cleaning jar on so that means I sucked Clorox water into the milk. Geeze louise! Dumped that gallon of milk! I had already emptied some into another jar so I managed to keep that - but fed it to the dogs/pigs anyway because I am totally topped out on milk right now!

Just took more meds so I'm thinking I won't last much longer tonight...
