Aloe Vera on skin before you go out and NO burn. Makes tea sweeter without a burn


I haven't tilled YET -- maybe tomorrow. But I did get several feed sacks rolled down to put the straw, dirt & potato starts into them. I found about 20+ nice tomato plants in the old pig pen area as I went to move one of the sheds to a goat holding area. As well as 3 lovely melon plants! So, most likely watermelon but, could also be honeydew or cantaloupe. Tomatoes -- who knows. Slicers I'm sure. Hard to say what else may pop up as they were fed a lot of veggies.

Now, I need to till the garden area, move plants, fill bags, add potatoes (already heavy sprouts!), add some bean, cuke, squash, etc......starting some herbs for large pots that I can move around as needed in the garden area. Have flowers to go in also. Corn will go in another area later in week, with pumpkins & pole beans..... Hopefully our weather will now stay warm. Late cool spell all last week.

Chicks hatched, began milking today, garden ready to go. Yep, I have a dishwasher full of canning jars in it now. Of course, I use them for milking, LOL. But lots of them to get out & get ready to can. Freezer of home grown pork, roos to butcher late Summer. On a roll here.

I still wasn't able to do anything in my garden today. Dog gone rain!!!

I did a little weeding pulled a couple radishes and added two eggplants and three more peppers to replace the ones that didn't recover from the goat attack. Also had to add some extra dirt to the 'tater tubs. They have some good growth so I'm excited to see how this 'tater tub experiment is going to turn out.

Even though I wasn't able to get into the garden, I did plant an onion in some potting soil and put it in a window that I know gets lots of sun during the day. I had attempted this in March but I cut it in half instead of leaving it whole ( it didn't survive) but this time I left it whole.

I cut 4 acres of grass and then my friend and I built a grape arbor for his grape vines...took forever to untangle and weave them through the cattle panels to get them all going the right direction. We also started to get my section of tomatoes "staked" with posts and string. If only I could upload pics!! I caught a good sunburn!! I didn't realize I was getting one till I had gotten got...should have known though being out for 6 hours in it. I'll be tan tomorrow or the next day....except for that part of my left arm from forearm to knuckles thanks to this dumb wrist brace....still white under it!!! Lol!! We got a lot done around here though, and I'm glad for that. He appreciates my work, and I appreciated having a garden spot this year, so it works!

Zero gardening today. It rained all day. This week (after tomorrow) is going to be warm and sunny so I will have a LOT to do!

Do I see winemaking in your future? Or at least - lots of grape jelly or raisins!!

Geeze, for all the rain we had a while back - we are dry, dry, dry now. And I'm ok with it. I can always add water - but I can't deal with tooo much of it.

Jam jelly juice...perhaps a little table wine also. He has blackberries growing up it too on one side. I have suggested raspberries and more grapes also....if I help, he pretty much doesn't care what I put out there.

That's awesome. I actually found my little grape vine that comes back every year...and gets mowed down every year...and comes back every year! Poor little thing - but it's tenacious!
