And just like that - it's over! (except for that other line of showers heading our way...ugh!) Yep, very happy pigs. They've been so happy lately that the sows have only been coming in from the back of the pasture a couple times a week. The younger sow came up tonight - OMG! She's about ready to pop again and her belly is H.U.G.E! I told DH we're gonna have to butcher 'em young so we don't have 50 piglets running in the pasture at the same time, lol!

Rain here today -- ALL day. We did need it, so I don't want to complain. Couple weeks ago had 4 days of mist but, not enough real rain. That isn't case today. At least it is soaking in with the slow/hard spurts. It's a lot cooler, also. Sure makes the grass grow!! :clap Always need pasture.

Should clear off tomorrow & be nice Thur/Fri. Got to plant some things in garden!!! Melon, tomato & pepper volunteers from pig pen.....AND found about a doz tomato plants in a small area where I had penned a roo for a while. These last ones are cherry/grape type.

Have to dig & move a volunteer grape vine this year, now while it is wet! Thought goats may have killed it but, there it is. Will try to save it now. I should be a good one, hard as it has worked to survive. It's from some I had thrown out to chickens. Next year I may know what kind it is.

I haven't planted any melons... guess I need to find another spot to stick some seeds in the ground. That's what I get for planting in such a small area...But, this spot has great soil - just not enough room for everything I want to plant. :(

Today's follow-up at the eye doc was much better than the first one. Doc says he's making good progress, but did say if the post surgery blood doesn't clear up he might have to go back in. My goodness how long can that cycle go on? But, we're not gonna worry about it at this point. We're grasping on to the good stuff. We also talked about getting the cataract out of his right eye. I emphasized to the doc that DH can't work or drive like this and we need for both of these things to happen! Our next follow up is in three weeks and we'll talk more about it then.

Picked a few more things outta the garden today. We might get tired of zucchini - but we won't starve lol! Not sure whats happening with my bush beans though. A couple times a week I find a plant that is just dead... whats up with that? Never had that happen before. Guess I better start doing some research. ugh

Zucchini... Yum. I won't say that when we're eating it 3 meals a day but for now, yum! Lol

He told me today he can make out the difference between the wall and the door now. I didn't know he couldn't - geeze! The air bubble in his eye is being absorbed but as it recedes he can see the edges of it and it distorts things for him - so when that is gone I think it'll be better.

I had a sweet tooth tonight and nothing but ice cream would do....so I skimmed some cream off the top of some milk, mixed in some vanilla extract and some stevia and put it in a pint jar. I put it in the freezer, and every half hour I'm shaking it up real good...hope it's worth all that effort, lol. It should be ready in another hour or so... grrrr

Glad he got a better report this time!!

And yeah, we've got quite a bit of soaking rain. I think today is the last of it for a bit... but the H word was written in the forecast for today and tonight... Hail. :hide Let's just hope that doesn't actually materialize. I'll skip putting the horses on pasture today, no sense in having them risk tearing up the grass, and I don't feel like getting wet legs from hiking to get them, either. They can go back out there for a while tomorrow again.

Jealous of your garden. I guess I need to get my ass in gear before it's too late to plant anything...
