I didn't do anything today but last night I did climb over the jumbled, jungle of weeds and pick some tomatoes and peppers. I should have a few beans any day now and crookneck squash.

I cut okra picked cukes, peas, tomatoes, peppers, and weeded a little more.

My okra has got about a week more to start producing pod. This year I planted Emerald Okra http://sustainableseedco.com/heirlo...pa/okra-heirloom-seeds/emerald-okra-seed.html
Because the say you can let it get up to 8" long before cutting. This is my first time growing emerald and it seems to be taking more time compared to Clemson Spineless which I've grown for what seems like forever.

What type you got planted?

I wish I had room for okra when I planted it, it was a red hybrid of some kind. It grew like seven or eight foot tall and the pods were tender even when long. I want to say maybe 'Cajun' something another but really it's been probably 20 years so I can't remember. Daddy always grew Clemson spineless.

Nothing yesterday, we had a flood of rain on Monday so everything is still pretty soaked through. Which is alright, I had planted a bunch of neglected sunflowers about the property on Saturday so hopefully they'll make it :)
I actually have fruit growing! Little green tomatoes and peppers, and pie pumpkins.
And it's been a salad every night lately :)

Crealbilly I think mine is Clemson too. If you want long tended pods that produce like crazy and are early try to find an old fashioned cowhorn okra. That stuff can be a foot long and just as tender as a 3 inch pod of Clemson.

I need to get me some of that cowhorn okra. I tried red okra one year nd it was the opposite results of @Icertuche. Mine got harder than a rock at about 4 inches - grrrrr. Can't remember the name of it...something like red velvet or red burgundy. But, I usually grow Clemson Spineless. In fact, it usually volunteers like crazy.
