Cheese shrimp grits. :drool:drool:drool I had them at a restaurant in Baton Rouge. Damn they were good!

Cheese Shrimp Grits is deserving of a triple drool for sure!

Grits... Have you ever had fried leftover grits? So good... Whisk in a few beaten eggs into the grits and fry in butter and bacon fat until golden brown. Then pour a little real maple syrup over top.

Get creative, add whatever you like to the grits before frying. :drool.

Speaking of frying things - how many of you like fried corn bread or better known as Hoecakes?

We always called them corncakes but it's the same thing. Haven't had them in years but loved them way back when. We always put sweet corn, bacon and onions in ours and there's no quicker way to get some bread on the table.

Absolutely! I had Bar-b-que shrimp and grits once in a restaurant. Oh my - my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I've recreated it several times at home because it's really simple. Just saute some onions, garlic, and some green AND red bell peppers.. maybe a little Old Bay seasoning. Throw in some shrimp just until they turn nice and pink and add a little Sweet Baby Ray's (or your favorite bbq sauce) and I use a little beer in it too (you could use broth) just to make it juicy and serve it over grits...It's so good it'll make ya slap ya mama!

here I came to look at pictures and you guys are making me hungry. yes, being a southern girl I love me some grits. shrimp and grits, oh my whats not to love. and yup, @crealbilly I am also a big fan of mud bugs. and @baymule I saw your baby duck pic. did you get some baby muscovies? so far this year I have raised 30 ducklings and that doesn't count the ones the snakes and dstr#3's dog gave eaten. more than enough i'm thinkin. since we are focusing on chickens i'll share one of my fav's with youall. doesn't mama look like she is daring you to mess with her babies. she hatched 12 muscovie ducklings and has raised every one of them.
