just got my seed order from Migardener! 22 packs of seeds for $24 shipped. Hope They do well. I'm gonna try sprouting most things in the biodegradable seed pots and then transplanting. They say it even works with root crops.
I ordered way more stuff than last year. I'm going to try this biointensive gardening to maximize usable space. They say it even cuts down on weeds because it keeps the soil shaded. We will see.
Finally getting some rain! The woodchip garden needs it bad. Stuff is never gonna break down without water

Very exciting @Chic Rustler ! What a great price on seeds! I'm planning to start seeds 2 weeks early in jiffy pellets and transplanting because chipmunks have been eating the seed before it germinates. FX
My baker Creek order arrived. I dumped it out on the bed and DH was not impressed. He thinks it is excessive. Well.... mayyyybe?

Do y'all folks plant your own from seed or do you buy seedlings from a nursery? Or both?

last year we did both. This year I'm going to try and grow it all from seed. I have a friend with a green house so I may get an early start.

Gonna try to get an early start this year! Plan is to turn my garage into a seed starting warehouse! (famous last words) But, this year - I swear I'm gonna get 'er done!

Both. Last year was my first success starting from seed. But DH insists on planting too early and they got killed by frost. in 2018, he can buy his sacrificial plants for early planting from a nursery. I'm tired of ending up with whatever plants didn't sell at the nursery. I bought Baker Creek seeds because I'm ready for varieties that work for our climate and my family's food preservation needs. We're not average gardeners and average garden plants aren't cutting it over here.

We have some really fantastic local nurseries and some fantastic local farmers that sell organic started plants. So we're lucky!

Wow @NH Homesteader , no sense in starting plants from seed if you can get good ones locally! DH always bugs me about the cost of starting seeds versus buying from a nursery. but then again, he's talking about building a greenhouse too. We have a structure that could be modified to make into a greenhouse. I hope he actually does it!
