its taken me hours to catch up on your thread FEM. i'm so sorry about your parents. giant hugs for you, dh and them. my first piece of advice would be to talk to the hospice nurse about your dad and see if he can get signed up too asap then tell her you need respite and need it now. they may be able to keep them in respite care until a place in a nursing home becomes available. while they are in the hospital they can have their tb tests done and be ready for placement. please, please don't feel guilty about the fact that you're exhausted. you human, remember that. and there will be no one to care for them if you are down and out. taking care of my mom was hard at best and impossible at times and she had her right mind, for the most part. remember you will always be their daughter and they need you so much right now. God will give you the strength to get thru this just let him. the goats, pigs, chickens and dogs will give you a pass. this too will all pass, just tie a knot in the end of the rope and hang on.:hugs

Good to see ya, @goatgurl

just tie a knot in the end of the rope and hang on.:hugs

Hanging with all fingers and toes at this point.

Definitely going to talk to Home Health about getting dad on Hospice. After that all obstacles are pretty much out of the way. And definitely respite - if we can't get them placed quickly.

Hospice nurse came today and says mom is regressing pretty quickly. We've increased her anti-agitation med's again. She had her first increased dose and she's stopped fidgeting, stopped obsessing and is sitting quietly and watching television. Hope that keeps up! :fl

Eventually my story will change and I can talk about new kids and quail and chickens and gardens. All part of the circle of life I guess.

FEM I can so relate & feel your desperation and love! I hope the rooms become available quickly -- it will be your only relief. Call every day!!! Hire anyone you can -- you say, strangers in your house seems a problem but, that's where you are now. Hire anyone. You need a break!!!! At least a hired stranger can help you out, at least a nap or hour outside Cry on those goats , dogs and minis...they will understand! It helped me -- will you.

:hugs:hugs:love:hugs:hugs Group hug!

Hope the meds continue to work. And that home health and hospice move quickly. How long until you go back to work? Hope they're settled in time for you to have a little time "off" to catch up on the farm before then. Any luck on selling their house?

The new meds are really working to keep mom calmer. She only got up one time during the night. Unfortunately, I didn't get downstairs in time to stop her from peeing on one of my dining room chairs...:sick Thank goodness for Scotchguard.

House sale is slow going. We're doing some creative negotiating. Either way it goes there will be a minimum 2K non-refundable earnest money.

Got a quick glimpse of my wanna-be garden yesterday. Looks like most everything planted in the ground is going to drown... :( Stuff in tubs and the raised bed are still looking ok. :fl

I'm so glad to hear your mom is feeling calmer, but sorry to hear about the chair :hugs Hoping the house sale will happen and go quickly, so that's something off the list for you.

:fl for some garden success!

Storms raging for you now huh? Now that mine have calmed, if you need an ear, I'm here! I'm sorry you're going through this mess. If only we were neighbors I could come after work and help out for a few hours since I have experience in such. Bless your heart! Hope the house sells quickly and space is found for your parents so you can breathe again.
