I love the fact that they are so well respected and allowed to live along with the residents. It is especially telling in the paragraph that states the families -- many years ago! -- kept a goat for family milk & cheese, without pastures! They took them to the surrounding lands to graze. Thus we see what goat people have known for eons, how adaptable and how valuable these little animals are and have been thru out history, with truly minimal effort for survival.:old

What I have said forever -- a couple goats, few chickens, a garden and you can be really self sustaining. Not elaborate, basics.

Now, add some extras -- rabbits, ducks, a pig, some wild game and you may be "wealthy" -- at a small expense. It isn't new, only lost.

That's so cool! These are wild goats??
They are semi-wild yes. They go down to visit in the village, but live on the mountain. They're the same ones I posted about earlier in the thread. I was thrilled to see them up close today :) Last time they were far away and up the mountain.
