It is really amazing how smart those birds are! And talk! He would sing the "Old McDonald had a Farm" song - but he had trouble with "m's" so it came out sounding like Old McDonald had a Fart, lol. He would also say "Fire, fire! Save the bird". I tried forever to teach him to say "cock a doodle doo" but instead he would mimic a real rooster crowing. Just what I needed, right? A bird crowing inside that sounded just like a real rooster. He also learned to wake my son up in the mornings. I spent forever yelling upstairs at my son to "get up" and "get up, right now" the bird started doing it for me, lol. He really was a hoot! But, he liked men....grrrrrr! Which usually means he was a she....so I sold him to a man as a breeder and last I heard she really WAS a she!

I just gotta say it:

I ain't as good as I once was,
I got a few years on me now,
But there was a time,
Back in my prime,
When I could really hold my own...

Now my body says "Oh, You can't do this boy (gal)",
But my pride says "Oh yes you can"

I ain't as good as I once once was,
But I'm as good once, as I ever was.

(Kinda pulled out the lyrics that were applicable - and deliberately left out some of the others.)

Oh my poor aching self, lol! I'm feeling a lot like Toby Keith's lyrics.

The tiller started, yay? That means I had to till. Once I tilled - I had to row. Once I rowed - I still need to plant...but I ain't as good as I once was. I needa cool off and rest before I go plant seeds, lol!

We're in the 80's today and it's humid as heck. And, I'm tired! Tilling with a potentially bum shoulder is hard! Making rows with a potentially bum shoulder is hard too! I'm trying desperately NOT to re-injure this shoulder so I have to do everything with my elbow clamped against my body so the shoulder doesn't take any stress. It works, but it slows me down some.

But, it's been fun being outside all day. I've turned the mama's and babies out and it's fun watching them. Weather is really nice if you're sitting out in a lawn chair with a cold beverage. :) (iced tea, lol)

FEM, you make me smile :) Wish I could fly over and go help you. My future garden is under about 2 or 3 inches of snow again. Yep, it snowed again. I'm dying to get out there and garden and get some seeds in the ground myself. This winter thing is dragging on too long now.

Whoop! Whoop! I have seeds IN THE GROUND! Ok, not that many seeds in the ground, but I planted 5 hills of zucchini and 4 of yellow squash. Yay!

Spring break is over...:(. I didn't get nearly as much done as I had hoped - but with mom being sick and me spending 4 days at the AL facility I guess what I accomplished is ok.

Think I'm gonna order some meaties....somebody stop me? I haven't in a couple of years and I miss the big, ugly, stinky things. Mostly I miss 'em being in my freezer. Maybe I'll get freedom rangers or one of the other NOT WHITE birds.

Just dawned on me that I haven't got the silky/showgirl eggs that I ordered.... hmmmmm. I think maybe I got - what's the word - screwed? They shoulda been here by now. :somad I got some investigating to do....

You did get a fair bit done, everything considered! How is your mom doing now btw?

Hmmm, I think some enquiries re those eggs would be in order, yes. Hopefully they'll show up soon.

I just sent an email to the seller and told her for the amount I paid for shipping (which was equal to the cost of the eggs) I should have had them by now. In fact, she told me last week, when I asked, that they would be here by Saturday. Guess what - this is Monday and no flippin' eggs! :somad

Mom is back to the level that she was before she got the UTI. Every time I'm there I stress to her caregivers that they need to push fluids.

Back at work this morning, and back to getting up at such an ungodly hour to go outside and milk. I'm going to only milk ONE goat twice a day. The other mama's that have babies are going to be on once a day milkings now. It will just have to be enough!
