I was thinking superglue as well. But then I guess it depends on how deep the cut is?

Yeah... If it we're just a little cut I would have just wiped it off and continued working. But this was a deep gusher kind of cut.
OK, I hope this works. Every homesteader or parent NEEDS these! If the link doesn't work, Google ClozeX.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.digitaltrends.com/cool-tech/clozex-wound-closure-device/amp/

Click on the blue word ClozeX in the link to see how it works. Sooo much easier than learning to suture!

Here the vid - rockin thanks !

I have expires medical sutures I picked up at a gun show. Ive had to use them on chickens a few times so have a little practice. So if I had to, I could sew myself up.

With our situation though, I'd just go show up at the base hospital emergency room. They'd have me done and out of there fairly quick and it doesn't cost us anymore than we already pay for medical. That's only because it's not open to the public unless an ambulance brings them. They also have the ability to punish if you're abusing the system because it's not public. Do not even think about taking your kid into the ER because they have a cold.

"My son who is US Marine also told me I should also have QuikClot in the first aid kit."

Yep, our son, ex-Army, says the same. He keeps it in his hiking gear.

That stuff stings. Like really really stings to the point of wanting to gnaw the body part off. I won't ever use it on myself again unless it's a super bad situation.

Cornstarch or flour will stop bleeding in a pinch. Use it for birds when something happens like two idiot roosters fence fighting.

While I agree with everyone that you should have and honestly still need to have it checked out another option is Raw Honey, Cover/Pack with Raw Honey Wrap Super Super tight and wait for 5-10 mins making sure finger isn't turning bad colors and the Honey will cause it to clot and seal as well as being natural antibiotic.

@Beekissed got me using the stuff on burns and I'm sold. A friend told me about some hospitals here using it for wound treatment as well (unconfirmed). It's wonderful stuff!
