My youngest daughter who has a soft spot for stray animals brought home a little gray and white kitten which she named Gandalf. It was so tiny she fedfit milk from an eye dropper and bottle for a few weeks until it could eat canned tuna, then hard food. we never let him in the house and raised him up on the front porch. All that winter from a little baby kitten. My daughter's Rottweiler really raised him mostly after my daughter played momma cat by feeding him. he would even sleep with my daughters Rottweiler at night on the porch. My daughters Rottweiler insisted to be on the porch a lot throughout the day and all night long shot she could play momma's to Gandalf.

When spring broke that little kitten grew into a big ole Tom cat. And being raised up from a Rottweiler mainly he thought he was all that too. I renamed him Lil-G because he thought he was all that, gansta even... I couldn't wait for the weather to warm up enough to put him outside.

2 years had passed and one day he just vanished. Thinking oh he's a Tom cat he's just out and about looking for a girl friend he'll be back. Well weeks turned into months and no sign of Lil-G... Fearing the worst and maybe he became coyote dinner. I cut my losses... But I must admit I sure missed that Tom cat with a attitude being around the farm.

Well yesterday I went into town to the dollar general and you'll never guess who comes walking up to my truck strutting his stuff... Yep it was Lil-G. Now how he got into the town of Creal Springs which is about 10 miles from where I live in the country is beyond me... Only thing I could figure is he must have jumped in the back of my truck and hitched a ride when I went into town months ago maybe? IDK...

Anyways I picked him up and petted him and went to open the door to my truck so I could take him home. He wouldn't have nothing to do with getting in the truck, jumped out of my arms and ran down the street and disappeared into someones fenced backyard. I tried to find him but he was nowhere to be found :(

Kinda of bummed out about it all... I realized one thing when I picked him up he was as solid and heavy as he's was when he lived on the farm with us in the county. I fed him every day, so someone is feeding him in town. I then came to the conclusion that yes he really is a Lil-G, the country life ain't where gangsta Tom cats live, they are city cats and lil-G must have many girl friends now. I mean what more could a Tom cat need than girl friends and food? I think he's living the Tom Cat's dream now, being a gansta Tom cat in town. But I still miss not having lil-G around the farm.

Aww, so glad to hear he's o.k. and happy where he is, but I hear you on missing him. It's easy to grow fond of an animal and he sounds like quite a character!

I love your story, CC! That cat is out there living his own story, fit and fat and surviving. Though I wish he could have come home with you, he's got a new life now, so maybe there's a little girl or little boy who loves Lil-G and calls him Smoky or something where he gets his food.

Did you happen to note if he still had his cathood? Could be if someone is feeding him, they may have neutered him too.

Here is the only picture I have of Lil-G from March of 17. As you can see Love was in the air.

They are so beautiful! Nothing says peace like cats snoozing...it says all is well and we can relax.
